Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Hart Family and Friends,

Today is the last day to register for the Late Night Leopard Campout.  I am overwhelmed with the turnout and can't wait to camp with our students and families!  The campout is officially four weeks from today!  You still have time to register through the online payment center or using the paper registration packet that went home in Thursday folders.

We are excited to welcome our Hart dads to "Donuts with Dad" next Wednesday and Thursday morning.  On Wednesday morning at 7:30, we invite all students with last names beginning with A-M to join us in the cafeteria to enjoy donuts with their dad.  All other students will report to their classrooms and will enjoy a donut with their teacher.  We will do the same thing on Thursday morning for students with last names beginning with N-Z.

Don't forget to vote today (and everyday until March 30) for Mrs. Goff.  She is still sitting in 6th place, but with your votes, I know we can get her in the top 5!

This week has been a great start to our 4th quarter.  Spring is here, there is so much amazing teaching and learning going on in classrooms, and there are so many fun events to look forward to over the next two months.  It is a great time to be a Hart Leopard!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

SPRING BOOK CLUB!
2nd - 4th graders received a flyer in their Thursday folder for the last book club of the year.  If your child is interested in being a part of the once a week group during lunch, please fill out the bottom portion and have them return to Mrs. Hart or Mrs. Fox next week.

BATHTUB!
Our library bathtub needs some updating! If you like to spray paint, sometime this spring, we would love for someone or a small group, to repaint this favorite reading spot!  Please email Suzanne Hart (suzanne_hart@lovejoyisd.net) if you would be willing to take this on.

BOOK FAIR!
Thank you to the many volunteers that spent hours setting up, decorating, working registers and breaking it all down on Friday before Spring Break! Because of all your hard work, and all our book fair purchases, we have another successful book fair on the books! This money all goes back into purchasing books for the library and makerspace items! Thank you Hart families!
PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU ARE PARKING

Please be aware that there are a few parking spots at Hart that are reserved for a specific purpose. We have one reserved for our Little Leopards group (in the South lot). We also have one spot reserved in the front of the school for our PTA volunteer of the month, and lastly one spot that is purchased in our Denim and Diamonds Auction every year. Please be courteous and avoid parking in a reserved spot unless it belongs to you this year. Thank you for helping us honor those special spots.
Message from the Nurse:

We are currently seeing mostly allergies and strep. There is also a virus that is lasting approx. 2-3 days-predominate symptoms seem to be fever, nausea/vomiting, and slight to moderate sore throat. We have not seen any diagnoses of flu.

We ask that children be free from fever without medicine, diarrhea, or vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school to prevent illnesses from spreading. Fever is considered 100.0 or greater.

If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email Alis_Brantl@lovejoyisd.net and Heather_Bouska@lovejoyisd.net with the date and reason for the absence. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

Please refer to the Lovejoy ISD web site under Hart Campuses / Departments / Clinic for more info. about the flu.

Foundation for Lovejoy Schools

Denim and Diamonds - Lone Starry Night
Through your generosity and support, the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools awarded grants totaling $451,100 to teachers for use in their classrooms this year. The Foundation is funded primarily from Annual Appeal and the Denim and Diamonds (D&D) Gala and Auction. The Foundation's goal this year is to cover D&D costs with sponsorships prior to the night of the event so all monies spent at the event go directly to fund classroom grants.

The Foundation for Lovejoy Schools will host its 12th annual Denim and Diamonds Gala and Auction on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Marriott at Legacy Town Center in Plano. This year's theme is a Lone Starry Night. Foundation for Lovejoy Schools Chair, Carrie McClure and Co-Chair, Aimee Peay welcome you to a night featuring dinner, entertainment and live auctions.

The Foundation for Lovejoy Schools will host a raffle for three great prizes, which includes:

  • $2500 VISA gift card - donated by Owens Realtors

  • Arcade Game Table - Designed like original arcade table from the 80s. Table can be customized, featuring officially licensed graphics of favorite College, Pro Team, etc. - value $4,400
Raffle Tickets
Raffle tickets are $100. Only 500 tickets will be sold. A drawing will be held for each item, giving each ticket a chance to win one of these prizes. The winners will be drawn at the Denim and Diamonds Gala. You do not need to be present to win. Click here for additional information. You may purchase tickets from any Foundation director, via the Foundation's website, or at the LISD administration building.
