Final Act for Many Bills

Following the legislative crossover date, the picture of what legislation remains in play is clearer, though not fully resolved. However, several high-profile bills affecting counties have been defeated for the session. A bill creating statewide terms for siting "small cell" wireless structures was effectively withdrawn, with strong encouragement for local governments to move on their own to create approval processes for the deployment. Legislation to oversee Airbnb and similar accommodations platforms was defeated in the House, ending the apparent potential for a late-session compromise. And MACo's Public Information Act initiative was recommitted from the Senate floor back to its Committee, likely ending its progress for the session.
