FROM AMY NOVOTNY: our Director
Dear RMDS families

As usual, the last month has flown by and we are finding ourselves at the beginning of another fun-filled month. This month has brought several enjoyable celebrations at RMDS including recognition of 100 th day of school and participated in the Jump Rope for Heart program. Currently, our team is in the midst of planning our upcoming book fair which will be open from February 12 th to 15 th .

It is also the time of the year when weather may impact the transportation to school. If RMDS closes due to weather, we will announce it on our website, Facebook and 9NEWS. If there is any time when you do feel it is not safe for you to transport your child, let us know.

Going forward this semester, we are anticipating exciting events. We really appreciate all of the students and parents who came to our previous events and we continue to look forward to see you at our upcoming events, Family Literacy Night and FSSO Night @ the Nuggets game.

RMDSly yours,
Amy J Novotny
Director

BOOK FAIR!! February 12-16
We need volunteers!!
It’s time to let the cat out of the bag! Come have a dog-gone good time as you and your family visit the book fair here at Rocky Mountain Deaf School from Tuesday, February 13th to Friday, February 16th! Your student(s) will be making a special visit to the “Paws for Books” book fair on Monday, February 12th for a special preview! This special visit will allow the students to peruse new and classic titles, in addition to making a wish list. Teachers will also be making their classroom wish list that families will be able to see, and purchase a book or two to donate to that teacher’s classroom.

Don’t forget about Literacy Night! Literacy Night will be Thursday, February 15th. The Literacy Night committee has a purr-fect night planned, and we hope to see you all there! More information about Literacy Night is provided in this newsletter.

A link to the book fair hours and volunteer list was included in the weekly RMDS news letter. Please visit our “Paws for Books,” book fair home page for more information regarding book fair hours and our call for volunteers. The volunteer slots are short and we appreciate any and all the help we can get! Thank you in advance for your consideration in volunteering and for visiting the book fair. Our home page can be visited at this link: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/rmds

This year’s book fair will include a Valentine’s Day book gram event. The book fair will be open from 2:30PM-3:30PM, on Tuesday, February 13th, for parents and family to come shop for the Valentine’s Day book gram event. Even if you do not plan to purchase a Valentine’s Day book gram, please feel free to stop by the book fair. Please keep an eye out for the Valentine’s Day gram flyer, to be sent home with your student(s) this week. In the event that your student(s) does not come home with a Valentine’s Day gram flyer, please feel free to email Janet at, [email protected] to request a flyer and form.

We hope to see you all around at the book fair and at Literacy Night!
