Principal's Message 10/18/19

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

We certainly saw and felt the truth of this after our unexpected school closing yesterday. How often we can get carried away worrying about the future!

I'd like to thank the seventh-grade parents for the lovely staff breakfast. What a treat it was for all of us to return to school to such a beautiful spread!

Congratulations to our SCSS Travel winners! Nathaniel Popiel was spotted in Poland wearing his SCSS Spirit Wear. Noelia and Analia Esteves were spotted at the airport during a trip to Disney wearing SCSS Spirit Wear. Thank you for showing your support for SCSS!

So many exciting events are coming up in the next couple of weeks with our Trunk or Treat, Picture Day, and Walkathon. Before we know it, October will be in the rear-view mirror. One important upcoming event is our first HSA meeting of this school year. The meeting will be at 7:00 in the school library. A flyer for our Meadows Farm fundraiser is being sent home today. Pick up will be Monday in the Family Center from 11:30-2:30.

If you have been looking for a way to get involved in the school community, St. Catherines Cares my just be the opportunity you have been waiting for. St. Catherines Cares is a community service group that participates in community outreach. We are looking for one or more parents to help lead this group. It is a wonderful opportunity to help others and live our faith. Please email or call Laura Hurley in the office if you are interested.

Monday is the two-month mark of my time at SCSS. It has certainly been a busy two months. I look forward to the year ahead as we move away from this transition period to a time of steady growth and productivity. I am thankful for the conversations and meetings I have had with teachers, parents and community members who are so invested in moving the school forward with a vision for the future. I encourage anyone who has thoughts to share them. My calendar is often busy, but my door is open so drop by to say hello or set up a time to sit down and meet.

Wishing you a festive fall weekend,
Mrs. Ambrosio
