Solicitation for New Board Members

LFNO is seeking to add an
LFNO parent
to the Board of Directors as now required by BESE. The process for adding a parent Board member will be the same as our existing process for adding any member to the Board, which is included in our Bylaws. We are considering 2 additional policies with regard to parent Board members including a restriction on the total percentage of Board composition that can be filled by parents and a restriction on the executive offices that can be held by parents. in advance of our regular Board meeting scheduled for September 24, 2018.
Our primary criteria for parent Board members is the same as for any Board member: objectivity, dedication, and expertise.

Work on our 2018-2019 Student Directory is almost complete. This year the PTO is utilizing “Join Our Class”, a cloud-based service. The Student Directory will be accessible through a web link and free app for IOS and Android that can be downloaded in the app store.
The Student Directory will allow parents to look up contact email and/or phone number of students as it was provided during school registration. The information will be available by individual name, or by class. Parents will have the ability to alter their own contact information or make their information private after publication of the directory.
Be on the lookout for an email invitation from “Join Our Class” at the end of this week. This will be your invite to set up your “Join Our Class” account. You will only be able to access the directory by setting up an account and the only way to set up an account is through the email invitation (so if you were not on the registration list we received from school or opted out ahead of time, you will not receive an email invite). There is no charge to set up an account and no charge to use the directory. Make sure to check your junk folder in case the email invite landed there.

Middle School Lunch Clubs
|
|
Middle School Lunch Clubs are off and running! There will be 2-3 clubs offered each day during lunch recess. Clubs are student initiated with supervision (not instruction) by a LFNO staff person. Current clubs include chess, comic books, cards, library, art, music...and there may be a few more added in the future!
There will soon be a bulletin board on the middle school hallway with all club related information.

WALK UP:
Parent comes to Cohn Street side of the double doors of P.E. room (staying outside) and checks in with duty teacher, student greet their parent outside.
CARPOOL:
Students exit Hickory Street side door of the P.E. room to meet parent's car.
4th - 5th Grade
WALK UP:
Parent comes to Cohn Street side of the double doors of P.E. room (staying outside) and checks in with duty teacher, student greet their parent outside.
