Tryouts for Torah Bowl will take place during breakfast on Friday, October 5th  on the tables in the back of the Beit Knesset. The tryout will consist of a short test on Parashat Bereishit, both on Peshat and Rashi.

Torah Bowl is a great way to combine learning Torah with competing on a serious academic team and everyone should feel free to try out. If anyone has any further questions, please contact Akiva Sturm or Avrumi Davis.

TABC Students Build Sukkot
in the Community
Groups of TABC students went to different homes to build sukkot for those who are unable to do so for themselves. We are very proud of the chesed shown by these young men, giving of their time, and their physical efforts.

Pre-Yom Kippur Late Night Learning
Inspires Students
TABC's first Late Night Learning of the year was held on Monday night, in preparation for Yom Kippur. Judaic Studies Principal, Rabbi Ezra Wiener started off the night with a shiur klali on the topic of "The Sanctity of Fasting." After a kavana filled Ma'ariv and a delicious Dougie's dinner, the students enjoyed two sessions of powerful shiurim. During the first session the student chose from shiurim offered by Rabbi Duvi Nachbar or Rabbi Dovid Einhorn, and during the second session their options were shiurim by Rabbi Daniel Fridman or Rabbi Yoni Mandelstam. The evening ended with an inspiring kumzitz led by Rabbi Jake Berman on guitar, as well as Rabbi Jonathan Kessel, Mashgiach Ruchani Rabbi Michael Hoenig and Rabbi Yitzchak "Rav Yitz" Rabovsky. The uplifting evening provided our students the opportunity to go into Yom Kippur inspired by their TABC rebbeim. For more photos, click here.

Optional Learning Draws a Crowd
In order to start the year on the right foot after Yom Kippur an optional shiur was given before Shacharit on Thursday morning. We were pleased to see how many students came early the morning after Yom Kippur for exta learning. Rabbi Yoni Mandelstam gave a shiur on the halachot related to Sukkot, and all enjoyed hot chocoalte from Dunkin Donuts.

Theater Students Partner with the Community
Netzach Schuman and Rami Levin, Theater Dept students and board members of TABC's chapter of the International Thespian Society,  helped to construct a sukkah this week for The Newman family of Bergenfield. Mr. Newman taught them how to construct the walls using plywood and 2x4's. Mr Newman volunteered this past school year to construct set pieces for our school plays. He even lent us pieces of his own handmade wooden sukkah which we used as the walls to our spring set. We hope to forge additional community partnership this year as well. If you are interested in partnering with us to build sets please contact Rebecca Lopkin, Theater Director, at [email protected]

TABC Simchat Beit HaShoeva 5779
In lieu of a school-wide Simchat Beit HaShoeva, all rebbeim are inviting talmidim from their Gemara classes to a shiur-specific Simchat Beit HaShoeva. The details were given directly to the students.
