Dear Classmates,

The date for our 55th reunion on October 6th is getting closer! Please note that responses are requested by tomorrow, September 14th if you plan on attending!

The main event planned is an afternoon deluxe buffet, served for 1.5 hours, at Martin’s Valley Mansion in Hunt Valley (same place as dinner five years ago). We expect the price to be $85 per person. Price includes a multi course deluxe buffet and deluxe open bar from 1-4pm.
Hors d'oeuvres will also be served until 1:45pm, please arrive on time to enjoy them!

Please see the attachments for the DELUXE BUFFET and DELUXE OPEN BAR. and DELUXE OPEN BAR DESCRIPTIONS.

New addition to the itinerary: Golf has been arranged for Sunday, October 7th at Rocky Point Golf Club. Seven tee times have been reserved at group rates. Please confirm your intent to play golf by Friday, September 28th to tomfekete@hotmail.com or classof1963@bpi.edu.

We plan to have a demonstration from members of the Class of ’63 Virtual Reality Laboratory at the event. We anticipate an excellent art exhibit from the Poly art program, the Class of ‘63 sponsored their activity last fall. For those of you who are in town, we will arrange a school tour on Friday, including the VR lab, the Fabrication Lab, the Aquaponics Lab, the Robotics room, as well as the Poly Archives. For the tourists, it is Fleet Week in Baltimore, there will be celebrations at the Harbor.

Hotel accomodations have been arranged and confirmed at the Embassy Suites, Hunt Valley, MD. Let us know if you are planning an overnight stay.

We are attaching information for our Class of '63 at the Embassy Suites Hotel for classmates to conveniently make room reservations directly. Your HiltonLink to book a room for this reunion event is: http://embassysuites.hilton.com/en/es/groups/personalized/B/BALHVES-BPI-20181005/index.jhtml

PLEASE NOTE: You can make room accommodations beginning 3 days prior to September 5th and stay up to 3 days after September 7th at the same blocked room rate.

In general we are planning a more casual but no-less memorable event than the 50 th. We very much hope that you can join us. On a more serious side, we would like to commemorate this anniversary with another meaningful donation to Poly. ’63 has been generous; our class has funded the Fabrication Lab and the Virtual Reality Lab (maybe somewhere Sol Dannoff is recalling that I really would have preferred if chem lab would have been virtual) as well as supporting the Hydroponics Lab, the  Robotics Team,  the Poly Art program and the Scholarship program. In 2018 we (the Class of 1963) provided 5 students $1500 awards to help with college expenses. I don’t need to emphasize the challenges facing the Baltimore Public School system; increasingly Poly is relying on alumni to fill in the gaps that the city cannot fund adequately. Your contributions to the Poly Foundation will be assigned to the Class of ‘63 account.

We would like to hear back from you as soon as possible, and It is essential to receive FIRM commitments to attend the reunion and Poly tour, including guests, on or before Friday, September 14th. The committee needs to provide an attendee count to The Valley Mansions on Monday, September 17th.

In addition, please advise/confirm you will be sending your checks to attend the reunion, including guests, and your donation to the Class of '63 Charitable Giving Fund, which request to be received no later than Friday, September 21st.

Please send your response (and your contribution pledges) to classof1963@bpi.edu, or to me tomfekete@hotmail.com. Those of you, who still prefer snail mail, can send your response, comments, and criticisms to Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Foundation, Inc at 1400 W. Cold Spring Lane. Baltimore, MD 21209 (410-889-7659). We are eager to hear from you! Checks for the event should be sent to:
