As many of you know who follow our gallery
, Dan and I have had some health issues this year.
Thankfully we're both fully recovered
, but the unexpected suddenness of those challenges, has forever changed our life and priorities.
This December marks our 15th year in business
. For any small business, reaching 15 years is quite a milestone, and we're very grateful that we've endured and flourished over the years.

After much consideration
...Dan and
I have decided that we want to take '
some time off
', from the day-to-day responsibilities of running and operating our gallery.
It's been an incredible experience!
We've been fortunate to meet, represent, and exhibit so many amazing/talented artists, whose careers are now getting the recognition they deserve and hopefully, have benefited from the exposure our gallery has given them.

Closing ChimMaya wasn't an easy decision
...how do we let go of a space, whose principal mission has been to bring 'Fine Art' to the community, and exhibit artists whose artwork is
generally under-represented. That said, we feel that we've fulfilled our mission and now is the best time to move on.

Over the years, we have evolved from
a handbag and jewelry shop, to a
recognized art presence in Greater Los Angeles. When we started there was no social media and most artists weren't on the web....locating artists to exhibit was difficult, and finding an audience/public to present the Art to, was even more challenging.

15 years later....with social media and all the tools on the web, ChimMaya enjoys a worldwide audience and we have
exhibited artists from all over the globe!

In Closing....Dates/Shows to Announce:

- October 13th, Opening Reception: 'Arte Para La Gente' / 'Art for the People'....We've invited 100 plus artists that have exhibited with us over the years, to participate in the largest group exhibit we've ever mounted.
- November 3rd, Opening Reception: We've invited a small group of artists to produce artwork/personal pieces....based on their experience @ ChimMaya.
- November 24th, Final Day of Operation....a celebration of all that we've collectively achieved together!

Artists: It is, and has been, our 'Great Honor' to exhibit and showcase your artwork. For many of you...when ChimMaya first emerged as an unknown gallery, you believed in our potential and entrusted your artwork to us.
For that, no adequate words of gratitude can express how you helped facilitate our growth and success.
We've grown together
as Gallery, Artist, Curator, Friends, and Extended-Family.
The Memories of all we've accomplished together, is truly the legacy
that we jointly leave to our community.
Our hope remains, that each of you will continue to follow your dreams and create artwork....that is thought provoking,
inspiring, and moves people to express 'the best part of themselves', in positive and lasting ways!
