Keeping you informed of the latest news and activities from
Church School at the Church of St. Michael and St. George
Church School Update
Here's what's happening in Church School this Sunday, September 23rd:

Preschool I and II
Preschool students learn about the Eucharist. What is the special plate we use? What do we call the special cup we use in church?

PreKindergarten
PreKindergarten begin learning about baptism. Have you been baptized? Do you have to be a baby to be baptized?

Kindergarten
Kindergarten students learn about the special meal we share as a church family, the Eucharist.

First Grade
First grade students continue learning Bible Stories. This week they discuss the story of Noah and make a page for their Bible Binders.

Second Grade
Second grade students continue learning about people from the Old Testament as part of their Jesse Tree project. This week they learn about Noah and make another ornament to add to their wreaths.

Third Grade
Third grade students discuss the Parable of the Lost Sheep and make a page for their Parable Folders.

Fourth and Fifth Grades
Fourth and fifth grade students learn about Cain and Abel and the importance of forgiveness. Remember the prayer cookie dough from the first week of Church School? This week's snacks will be the cookies made from that dough and devil's food cupcakes.

Reminder: Next week, September 30th, is St. Michael's Sunday and there will be no Church School. Instead, join us for a special family service in the church and lunch served outside along Ellenwood.
Grandparents Sunday Success
More than 25 families joined us for our inaugural Grandparents Sunday. Grandparents and grandchildren attended Children's Eucharist in St. George's Chapel, participated in Church School together, and enjoyed snacks in the Taylor Room.

Check out the pictures on our Church School bulletin board outside the Great Hall or visit our Instagram page. Please plan to join us next year for this special morning of worship and activities

Help Wanted: Serve Breakfast at Gateway 180
Fourth and fifth grade students and their parents are invited to join CSMSG's Shelter Ministry on Sunday mornings to serve breakfast to residents at Gateway 180. This important ministry is in need of parishioners to help fulfill its mission. Children in fourth and fifth grades may help make toast and put ice in glasses. For more information or to volunteer, visit the Shelter Ministry Sign Up Genius.
Heard About Parent Link?
Parent Link is a ministry that supports parents of children of all ages as they raise Christian families. It includes various events and learning opportunities, from small group meetings to larger family events, designed to provide fellowship, support and education. For more information visit the Parent Link Webpage.
Register for Church School Online
Register your children for Church School for the 2018-19 school year online using the link below.
Please complete the form with your child's name and parent contact information. You will need to complete the form for each child enrolling in Church School. Click ADD to register additional children.

Does Your Child Have Allergies?
Food is an important part of our Church School curriculum. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies. Children in preschool through first grade made name tags with parent contact information. You may write your child's allergies on his or her name tag so all teachers and high school assistants may readily see this information. Additionally, we will include this information in the class buckets. Please email Jane Fisher with information about your chid's food allergies.
