Join Award-Winning Author, John Strausbaugh | September 23 @ 1 pm
During the Civil War, New York was a city of abolitionists and supporters of President Lincoln. It was also home to racists and anti-war “Copperheads,” due in part to its deep business ties to the Cotton South.
Moderated by Jim Dwyer of the NY Times, join John Strausbaugh, author of
City of Sedition, The History of New York City During the Civil War, to explore the complex history of New York’s response to the war.

October Mission Offering | Fighting Hunger in Malawi
|
|
About 2.8 million people are experiencing hunger in Malawi due to the devastating effects climate change has had on harvests over the past decade. Of the 18 million who live in Malawi, 53% live in poverty, the majority being rural farming families. 25% of children in Malawi are stunted due to food insecurity and hunger.
Plymouth Church is partnering with
Heifer International’s Sustainable Agriculture Lead Farmer Program to help 24,000 smallholder farmers, half of whom are women, in Lilongwe, Malawi to combat hunger. This project will ensure sustainable food security, improve the livelihood of participants, and increase resilience to the impacts of climate change.
We will offer our gifts at the close of worship on World Hunger Day on Sunday, October 14th.
