World Labyrinth Day

Spend World Labyrinth Day in peace and fellowship at Hinton Center. The theme of this year's WLD is "Walk as 1 at 1." So, at 1 p.m. there will be a group walk at the labyrinth, but you may join us for refreshments, and relaxing crafts from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. that day.

SUNDAY, MAY 14:
Mother's Day Fundraising Brunch

Celebrate Mom this Mother's Day at Hinton Center! All proceeds go toward Hinton ministries and mission to provide thriving communities of faith and safer, warmer, drier homes for those in need. 

Tickets are $18 for adults, $8 for children 5-12, and free for those 4 and under. 

Tickets include drink, buffet, and dessert! Reservations required by calling (828) 389-8336 or emailing hannah@hintoncenter.org.
THURSDAY, MAY 18:  Community Development Workshop  Featuring  Dr. Vaughn Grisham

CCI will host its next workshop on May 18th at Hinton. This workshop will feature Dr. Vaughn Grisham. The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration for this workshop is $10. Lunch is provided.

Dr. Vaughn Grisham is the Director Emeritus of the McLean Institute for Community Development at the University of Mississippi where he has taught for the past 40+ years. He has authored several books and numerous articles, including Tupelo: The Evolution of the Community and Hand in Hand: Community and Economic Development. He has helped establish leadership programs in more than 300 counties and has done community development work in more than 30 states and two Canadian provinces. He published a leadership manual, Link 2000, for the Southern Growth Policies Board. In addition, Dr. Grisham’s most recent research has centered on Extraordinary Results in Ordinary Communities, an occasional paper published by the Kettering Foundation.

Jane Hart has volunteered with Hinton since November 2016. She is always willing to answer phones, lend a hand, and even sit on a housing committee with the Council for Collaborative Impact! Jane has a giving spirit that shines onto everyone she meets. Thank you Jane!

New to staff as of April 2017, Nick is the new Construction Ministry Coordinator. Nick is a Murphy local (just one town over), and is thrilled to work with mission groups this summer!

Nick has a degree in Forrest Management, loves ice cream sandwiches, and is ready for campfires and fireflies this summer!
