Inaugural Benefit Dinner a Major Success!

Vocation Ministry had its benefit dinner Men in Black: Game On! in Houston, Texas on September 10, 2019! It was wildly successful with 300 people hearing more about Vocation Ministry and its impact for the first time. I was thrilled to give the Champion for Vocation award to Mr. Larry W. Massey, Jr. He helped to bring about Hundredfold, Sembrando Semillas, www.vocationministry.com, and then the nonprofit Vocation Ministry! He continues to be an amazing gift to me, this ministry and the Catholic Church! A new initiative that was revealed that night is that Archbishop Lépine of Montreal will have Hundredfold translated into French to help parishes in Canada to create a culture of vocations. Stay tuned to see what the Holy Spirit has in store for Vocation Ministry!

Priesthood Sunday- September 29

I have received quite a few messages from people asking about the move of the date of Priesthood Sunday from the end of October to the end of September. The principal reason for the change of date is to allow more time between the celebration of Priesthood Sunday and National Vocation Awareness Week, which is a welcome change! If by chance, this is catching you off guard, just celebrate it in October. 99.9% of the people will not know of the change or when Priesthood Sunday is supposed to be celebrated. If you have not planned something to do just yet, focus on awareness of the day by using the below bulletin blurb and announcement at Mass. Do ask your Deacon to announce this day at the Masses and give your priest a well-deserved round of applause. If a deacon is not available, ask if a Parish Council member or Vocation Ministry member can make the announcement! Bulletin Blurbs – Example Please join the Vocation Ministry today Priesthood Sunday in praying for our priests, praising God for their courage and their generosity. Let us show Fr. A and Fr. B our encouragement and gratitude in thoughts and deeds. God bless our priests! Along with prayer, the Vocation Ministry invites you to take a moment after Mass to write a note of appreciation to one or all our priests. Let Fr. J, Fr. C, and Fr. Ministry Highlight!

St. Aloysius Vocation Ministry- A Great Introduction We didn’t know how to introduce our ministry to the parish, as there hadn’t been one in the past. I did know the Archbishop was going to visit our parish however, and we decided we’d like to give him a gift. Your book Hundredfold !!! At first we didn’t know exactly how this would happen, thinking we’d probably offer the gift to him during a planned reception.   What we found out later was our pastor approached us to give the gift at the end of Mass. So in the end, our pastor introduced our ministry to the whole parish and we offered our gift and received a blessing in front of our entire community!!!!
