Luke 18:9-14
Jesus told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and regarded others with contempt: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, `God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of all my income.' But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, `God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his home justified rather than the other; for all who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted."

This week, we pulled up the last of the plastic to reveal the bare earth underneath.
It's strange to see the garden without all the plants!

We did leave a our rows of kale
and Swiss chard standing.
They are still going into deliveries, and the chickens sure appreciate the snack as well!

Bostwick Gardens was originally built in 1987 and is a project of St. James Episcopal Church Housing Corporation and the Berkshire Housing Development Corporation.
In 1985 a group of parishioners of St. James Episcopal Church formed a corporation to buy land and build an affordable housing complex for elder citizens in our community. Bostwick Gardens, named for the Rev. Gideon Bostwick, the first resident priest and rector of an Episcopal Church in Great Barrington, opened in 1987.

Practices for Jesus-Centered Life
In October of 2018
After months of planning the Episcopal Churches of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts welcomed Presiding Bishop Michael Curry at a rousing celebration in Pittsfield. This celebration marked the beginning of a Revival for the church. Bishop Curry also launched a new, or renewed, way of looking at how we live our faith. Curry has completed a series of talks and they are available to listen to as podcasts or you can go to our website and connect there.

"CHANGE THE BABIES"
Please put your loose change in the jar that will be at the Welcome Table.
This money that is insignificant in our day-to- day life is life-giving for these babies and those who care for them.
It costs about $1500 a year to support a baby and the Diocese's goal is for one congregation to support one child for those years.
Everything you give will go to support babies at the Mampong Babies Home in Ghana.
