Novelist Julia Phillips, whose debut, Disappearing Earth, has been praised as “nearly flawless” by the New York Times and named one of the best books of the year by Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, and Vanity Fair, shares techniques for structuring, developing, and deepening your writing. Through creating a seven-step outline for the fiction or nonfiction story you want to tell, you’ll gain clarity on your plot’s shape and characters’ motivations.

This time is meant to answer basic questions about these devices and how to use the Overdrive app to access and download eBooks, audio books, and eMagazines. Unfortunately we cannot assist with more in-depth issues such as virus remediation or account recovery.

Dr. Gerald Hazard was the first pediatrician in Barnstable Village starting in 1965. After retiring in 2002, he took up watercolor painting and has been at it since. He is self-taught and views his art as a hobby rather than comercial venture. His paintings will be on display in the Simpkins Room throughout November.

The 6th Grade students from Barnstable Intermediate School’s Gateway Program have been hard at work creating handmade children’s books. These inventive and artistic students have written, illustrated, and bound their own original tales, and they are very excited to share their work with the patrons of Sturgis Library! These will be shown in our lobby display cases.
