 The IVMA staff is headed to Ames to for Annual Meeting.
Our Ankeny office will have the following hours this week:
Wednesday, 9/19 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Thursday, 9/20- closed
Friday, 9/ 21 - closed
Preconditioning Supplies can be ordered until noon on Wednesday. Orders received from Wednesday, 9/19 at noon through Friday, 9/21 will be shipped on Monday, 9/24.

The reception during the IVMA Annual Meeting with be held at a new location this year.
Join your classmates and colleagues on
Thursday, September 20, 5:30-7:30 pm at the recently renovated
Vet Med Commons at Iowa State CVM
for hors d'oeuvres and beverages.
During the reception, take advantage of tours of the new
Stereotactic Radiation Therapy facility
at the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital. This facility will allow the hospital to offer radiation therapy as a treatment option, in addition to surgery and chemotherapy for veterinary cancer patients.
Join the tour to see how your patients could benefit from this next-generation machine to treat cancer in pets. Tours will be available from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Meet in the Vet Med Commons.

Plan Now to Attend IVMA Iowa State Football Tailgate
|
 Join the IVMA on Saturday, September 22 for a tailgate before the Iowa State vs. Akron football game. Plan on joining other IVMA Cyclone fans for pregame burgers, brats and beverages.
All IVMA members, their guests and ISU veterinary students are invited!
This is the day after the IVMA Annual Meeting, so plan on staying in Ames for all of the festivities! Make your hotel reservations now!

The IVMA and Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine sponsored a steer for the 4th year in a row at the Governor's Annual Charity Steer Show at the Iowa State Fair. "Cyclone" the steer was sold at auction and brought $3,000 as part of a record-breaking total of $294,000 that was raised at the auction for the Ronald McDonald Houses in Iowa.
The CVM/IVMA steer was raised by Ally Bedwell of New Virginia and shown by US Congressmen David Young.

| Poultry Medicine Workshops Offered |
 Backyard Poultry is a growing field!
Poultry Extension at Iowa State University is offering three
Poultry Medicine Workshops in South Sioux City, NE; Ames and Central City, Iowa. Each workshop is one full day of lectures with a wet lab in the afternoon. Leading the program is Dr. Mohamed El-Gazzar and Dr. Yuko Sato, ISU Poultry Extension Veterinarians.
This workshop will introduce veterinarians, especially those in small and mixed practice, to poultry medicine. It will provide the necessary knowledge, skills and resources to help you serve your poultry clients.
Cost is $30

| Save BI Box Tops to Fund Scholarships for ISU CVM Students |
 For the 5th year, Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) is offering Future Service Scholarships to support future cattle veterinarians graduating from the Iowa State University (ISU) College of Veterinary Medicine.
BI formed an alliance with the IVMA Foundation to offer this unique scholarship to graduating seniors at ISU. The final amount of the scholarship is determined by BI veterinarian and producer customers submitting box tops from Pyramid® 5 and Pyramid® 5 + Presponse® SQ product boxes.
* $2.50 per 100 doses of PYRAMID 5 + PRESPONSE SQ
* $1.25 per 100 doses of PYRAMID 5
From now through Dec. 31, 2018, producers and veterinarians throughout Iowa are encouraged to help fund the scholarship by clipping their box tops. Producers should forward their box tops to their veterinary clinics. Clinics then work with their BI sales representatives to submit to:
