Cedar Falls Community School District invites the community to join us in celebrating the ribbon cutting for Aldrich Elementary at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, September 20. Cedar Falls Community School Board members, Aldrich Elementary staff and students and the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance ambassadors will be on hand for the ribbon cutting. The event will include remarks by Joyce Coil, School Board President, Dr. Andy Pattee, Superintendent, Kim Cross, Aldrich Elementary Principal and Cedar Falls Mayor, Jim Brown. After the ribbon cutting students will provide guided tours of the building until 7 p.m. Visitors will also be welcome to tour the building on their own. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria.
Aldrich Principal Kim Cross said the ribbon cutting will give students, families and community members a sense of the accomplishment and pride represented by the new building. “This beautiful building is an awesome representation of the community’s commitment to education,” Cross said.
Aldrich Elementary is located at 2526 Ashworth Drive. Attendees are asked to take Hudson Road, to Viking Road, to Arbors Drive. Parking is available in either the north or south parking lot. The ribbon cutting will take place at the north entrance.
