The summer may be over but that doesn't mean we've stopped getting about in the mountains. We still have plenty of things happening this weekend. In addition to the soothing waters of the

The shops are open from 9am to 5 and 6 pm. Stop by
ArtiSun Gallery on S. Andrews Avenue which features over 25 different vendors as well as delicious fruit smoothies and coffees.
Gentry Hardware is worth the visit. Its like stepping back in time. You'll also notice AT hikers shopping at
Bluff Mountain Outfitters and so should you.

Hot Springs Welcome Center Update
We look forward to the flawless sunny days and cool, crisp nights of Fall in Hot Springs! Summer has been, let's say, balmy so far. Bountiful rain and sunshine have produced lush gardens, thick forests and healthy creeks and rivers for you to enjoy.
At the Welcome Center we strive to keep you updated on current events and happenings in our area.
Our friendly staff is here to answer questions and make suggestions about lodging, restaurants, and places to explore. Exhibits describe our rich history and the natural world around us. Stop by, or give us a call at 828-622-9932.
The Welcome Center is operated by the Hot Springs Tourism Association, with support from the Town of Hot Springs and the Madison County Tourism Development Authority.

Leaf Peak: It's Coming Sooner than You Think.
This summer has once again been somewhat hot, humid and wet. Visitors and locals alike have been hitting the river and the local mountain swimming holes in search of relief from the heat. But for many, school has started meaning the fall season and cooler weather will soon be here!
The mountains and hiking trails of the surrounding Pisgah National Forest make for some spectacular picture taking opportunities. This year the US Forest Service has repaired the Rich Mountain Fire Tower. The views of the surrounding Bald and Walnut Mountains are absolutely impressive. The tower is now open for the public to enjoy and appreciate.

Community Event:
BBQ for BOOKS
Saturday, October 13, 4 to 9 PM
Broadwing Farm
Pete & Mary Dixon are hosting their second annual "Barbecue for Books" at Broadwing Farm.
Like last year, the BBQ for Books donations they receive from you, our generous community, will be going to the
Hot Springs Library Building Fund.
They'll be serving up lovely BBQ, too many sides,
something sweet and tasty beverages
for a suggested donation of $25 per person.
There will be live music for your listening pleasure.
Last year we all had so much fun and thanks to your generosity, raised $4,300 for the HS Library Building Fund.
