Youth Group Kickoff Meeting: Please join Kitty Shuler and Youth Minister Madi for the YOUTH GROUP KICKOFF! Middle and high school students (and their wonderful parents!) are invited to attend the meeting following the 10am service in the Youth Loft. We have many exciting things planned for this year, including the following:
  • A new class for 6th and 7th graders, called The Gathering!
  • Our action-filled curriculum that examines how we can learn about our faith from superheroes like Superman, Daredevil, and Wonder Woman.
  • An awesome Fall fellowship outing!
Questions? Contact Madi ( youthminister@ccpk.org ) for more info.

Bible Study will resume this Sunday at 4pm in the Library

2018 Parish Picnic & BBQ
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us last week!

What a joyous atmosphere in the Undercroft; thanks to you for helping to make it so! Even the rain couldn't halt our celebration; we had a terrific turnout, approximately 110! Whether preparing food, grilling, arranging flowers, helping with set up and clean up, or simply attending and sharing in fellowship, thank you to everyone who participated.  Also, a big shout out to griller extraordinaire Carl Keith and the Men's Group led by Bob Quinn, all of whom braved wind and lots of rain to bring us delicious burgers and hot dogs.  - Jane Aylor and Sarah Leung

Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 7 at 4pm!

Calling all animals in Celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, animals are welcome to bring their humans to the annual Blessing of Animals on Sunday, October 7 at 4:00 pm! Come to the courtyard for a brief service of prayers, blessings, a hymn, and a treat (or two) and stay for the 5pm Eucharist.

2nd Annual "Kenya Night" for Nyumbani
Saturday, October 20 at 6-9:30 pm in the Undercroft

The Outreach Committee invites you to a night of sheer fun for all ages - dinner and dancing with a tribal flair, a Kenyan craft boutique, children's crafts, raffles and more!  Nyumbani is an orphanage in Kenya that supports children and caregivers infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Funds raised will be used to build a new greenhouse to grow fresh vegetables for the children and caregivers. Donations of wool yarn and razor scooters in good condition would be joyously accepted.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has invited all Episcopalians to commit to a common path of spiritual growth. His hope is that together we can grow more deeply with Jesus at the center of our lives, so that we can bear       witness to Jesus' way of love in and for the world.
  • This Sunday at Christ Church we embark in a series of sermons and conversations about the seven different aspects of the The Way of Love, using a lectionary that the Episcopal Diocese of Washington has crafted.
  • Next Sunday, September 23rd, plan to join us downstairs for coffee & conversation about the series after the 10am service.
As Bishop Curry is fond of saying:
"the loving, liberating, life-giving way of Jesus has the power to change each of our lives, and to change this world of ours!"
