2019 will take place on Friday, November 8th, 8pm in the Center for the Arts!
The
Mason Jazz Ensemble
, directed by Jim Carroll, collaborates with Ed Weiner and the law community to present its annual benefit concert, Jazz 4 Justice™. Proceeds from this
performance support vital community efforts by Legal Services of Northern Virginia and the
George Mason University Jazz Studies Department.

Master pannist, Glenn Rowsey not only built new pans for the Steel Pan Ensemble, but gave an incredible demonstration on the history of the pan, how it is constructed and tuned.

National Military Family Association's 50th Anniversary Gala!

National Military Family Association
(NMFA) is the voice of military families for 50 years, standing behind service members, their spouses, and their children. Keynote speakers were General David Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, Admiral Karl L. Schultz, Commandant,
United States Coast Guard and more.

On October 19th the Mason Steel Pan Ensemble performed an upbeat set in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the annual Halloween Party of attorney Jonathan Emord. The costume-clad ensemble performed selections representative of the Calypso tradition of Trinidad. This annual event features hours of musical entertainment, theater performance, food, a rock-climbing wall, and other attractions

Mason Jazz Heads To Brazil

We are excited to announce that we were awarded a grant by the George Mason University Global Discovery Program to travel to
São Paulo
, Brazil over spring break, March 6-15, 2020!
The Latin American Ensemble and faculty will travel to Campinas and
São Paulo
, Brazil to take in Brazilian culture through educational events, workshop, cultural activities and performances.
