This Week at BayMarin, October 14, 2018
Dear BayMarin,

I shared with you last Sunday about the opportunity BayMarin has to come alongside another church community for the next several months and serve them as best we can. The Quest in Novato is in transition and they are looking for some consistent teaching and support. For the next six months I will be teaching at their 9:15am service then will drive to BayMarin and teach here. Please be in prayer for The Quest as they walk through this time, pray for healing, hope for the future and wisdom for all to discern what next steps are.

This Sunday a dear friend of mine, Brad Nelson will be in town. He will help us kick off our new Mini-Series called  " Wonders ." Hope to see you Sunday!

Grace + Peace,
Matt

3 Years with Jesus: Wonders

Our next mini-series in year 2 of our 3 Years with Jesus will look at some of Jesus' miracles. They caused awe and wonder in Jesus' day and the invitation is for the wonder to continue in us today. We'll explore how these stories show us more of the heart of God and who Jesus is. They will also show more of our deep longings for healing and wholeness in our own lives today. In one of the texts we'll look at Jesus simply asks, "What do you want me to do for you?" He's asking the same question of us today. You can see the schedule for 3 Years with Jesus  here .

Formational Learning Community

Join us Wednesday evenings at 6:45pm as we engage in conversation and practices around being formed more into the people God created us to be. This fall we will use Richard Rohr ' s book Everything Belongs as a spring board for conversation and in the Winter/Spring we will use Barbara Brown Taylor ' s book An Altar in the World. Fall dates are September 12, 26, October 10, 24, November 14, 28. For more details or to RSVP contact Matt

Retreat with Dave Nixon: On Earth as in Heaven

Save the date for October 27 from 9am-4pm. Matt's spiritual director Dave Nixon will lead us on a retreat exploring human nature and our deepest longing for things to be as God intends. Come take a journey as we invite God into the hidden/false self and discover our primary (and often unnoticed) areas of focus; uncover the hidden strategies you use to "get the goods" and maintain personal equilibrium; see how you guard against change. Ultimately we will explore our deepest longing to live into the true self who God created us to be and our desire to live in loving union with God and others. Dave is a former pastor and is the founder and co-director of Sustainable Faith a School of Spiritual Direction. RSVP to Rebecca.   Cost is $40 and includes lunch and refreshments.

Prayer Requests

At BayMarin, prayer is a vital part of community life. We have three different teams of people who pray for the prayer requests that are submitted. Please share your prayer request with us  here.
Faith Community Opportunities

Our Faith Communities are our small groups - where church really happens as people live life together on a regular basis. We are looking for folks who would be willing to help lead and or host a Faith Community. If you are interested in learning more or joining a Faith Community, please contact Bryan.
Sunday Morning Prayer

We hope you will join us for Sunday morning prayer at 9:30am in the balcony of the auditorium.
