About United Way
United Way of Northeast Mississippi fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Northeast Mississippi.

We do this by investing in programs and initiatives that create impact in the areas of Family Stability, Academic Success, and Health and Wellness and by convening community partners to identify and address the big issues facing our communities.

We cover the 7 counties of Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tishomingo, and Union, and funds raised here stay here to impact over 125,000 individuals each year.

Congratulations Good Samaritan Free Clinic!
The Antone Tannehill Good Samaritan Free Clinic, located on Magazine Street in Tupelo, provides no-cost healthcare, dental care, and medications to working, uninsured or temporarily unemployed residents of Lee County. The Free Clinic has been a United Way partner since 1995.

The Free Clinic and executive director, Cindy Sparks, were honored at the NEWMS Women of Distinction luncheon on March 8. The Free Clinic was chosen as the 2018 Organization of Distinction for their work to serve women and children in Northeast Mississippi.

United Way has close ties to many of the other honorees as well. The five Women of Distinction include Kay Mathews, retired executive director of the Regional Rehab Center, and Patty Tucker, retired executive director of the American Red Cross North Mississippi Chapter -- both United Way agencies. We have also been so pleased to have worked with Juanita Floyd, Shawn Brevard, and Nettie Davis in various capacities over the years. They could not have honored a more deserving group of women!
Introducing: A New Addition

We're excited to welcome Jason Martin to our United Way team! Jason will be serving as the executive director of the Tupelo/Lee County Hunger Coalition, a partnership between United Way and the CREATE Foundation.

The Lee County affiliate of the CREATE Foundation has provided a grant for Jason to work to coordinate the efforts of the coalition, and he already has some exciting things in the works. We cannot wait to see the impact we will all be able to make against hunger in our region.
