To join, please email Dawn Stary by October 4.

UPCOMING FORUM:
From Church to Ministry Center
Sunday, October 21, 9 a.m., South Parish Hall
The U. S. Census Bureau calculates more than 4,000 churches close their doors each year. This is the story of one church that did not. This is a resurrection story, a tale of how a struggling, dying church found new life and vitality. The model is simple, based upon Matthew 25:35-40. “The Not For Sale Church” documents this transition from a one-day-a-week traditional church to a seven-days-a-week urban ministry center that now touches over 1,000 lives each week.

Join Dr. Bill Jenkins served as pastor for 12 years at Christ United Methodist Church before retiring from the pulpit to become the Executive Director of the new Christ Ministry Center. Christ Ministry Center is home to  several diverse congregations  who share worship and education space. These include churches of various denominations and with diverse ethnic, cultural and language backgrounds.
Why Evil Exists
Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., North Parish Hall
September 19-February 20
Why do humans do evil? What is behind "man's inhumanity to man," the troubling fact of human actions that produce suffering and destruction? Is it ultimately a spiritual or cosmic problem? Is it a consequence of social systems or power structures? Or is it some inner deficit of human nature, lurking in the shadow world of our psychology? Why, in the end, does evil exist? Each class includes a short video followed by discussion. Classes are facilitated by the Rev. Bill Zettinger and Bob Capettini. A free will offering of $5 per month is suggested to pay for snacks and beverages.
