Trust-Funded Providers: Growth Plans for Summer-Only Programs
Kindly note that when summer-only (YAS/YEN/EEI) programs were renewed by The Children’s Trust board, we indicated in the growth plan summary that growth plans would be developed upon contract execution. The focus of the first growth plan is to reflect on last year’s data, including the research end of year review, summer CAT observation and CM review, and implement any changes during summer 2018. Contract managers will be collaborating with providers to complete the first growth plan by
May 15 and the second growth/summary plan by
August 15.

If your organization is having an event, let us know and we'll help you promote it. Events can be for the community at large or specific to other service providers in Miami-Dade County. The only requirement is that they offer no- or low-cost opportunities to attendees; please note that we are unable to include galas and fundraisers at this time. Events can be health fairs, back-to-school events, movie screenings, training and professional development, or similar events. Simply fill out our online

FREE Summer Meals for Children & Youth - Sign Up TODAY!
Summer BreakSpot, a program that provides free meals to children and youth ages birth-18 years at participating service sites, is underway. We encourage ALL children and youth summer program providers to contact sponsors TODAY to secure participation at each of their program service sites. Be sure to confirm available menus (hot or cold) and delivery times BEFORE making a decision on which sponsor best meets the needs of your participants and program environment. In addition, we strongly urge providers to designate their program service sites as “open sites,” where children and youth ages birth-18 years living in their communities may also participate in the free meals program, even if they do not participate in provider programming. Open sites serve a critical role in minimizing food insecurity in Miami-Dade while schools are closed and are, for some children, a literal lifesaver. The Children’s Trust is also supporting Florida Impact efforts to increase accessibility to summer meals for those children who have no access to open sites, through pediatric clinics and WIC and HUB sites. Available Positions at The Children's Trust
- Accounting Manager * To be responsible for reviewing and critically analyzing financial information and provider documents within the framework of “Results-Based Accountability (RBA)” and with an emphasis on maintaining quality internal control standards. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of work performed by staff accountants in accordance with The Trust's procurement and accounting policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulations promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Government Auditing Standards. As directed by the CFO, the accounting manager will be engaged in key functions such as planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating the fiscal activities and functions of The Trust and its service-providing organizations to ensure that daily and long-term financial activities and controls are created and maintained to achieve organizational objectives and safeguard assets. Submission end date for consideration is Friday, March 30.
- Contract Manager * To be responsible for administering and monitoring contracts for various programs and services funded by The Trust. This position requires proficiency in Haitian-Creole and will work with our direct services providers and community partners serving the Haitian community. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the development and management of the bid solicitation process; negotiating contracts and their budgets; managing the process of executing contracts; monitoring funded programs and services; participating in meetings and professional development activities; managing contract amendments and revisions; and managing contract compliance. - Research & Evaluation Analyst To serve as a critical member of both cross- and interdepartmental teams who engages in proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to particular child, youth and family program areas and populations. Primary responsibilities include the identification and critical review of evidence-based/best practices in specified program areas; assistance for funded service providers and Trust staff on development of program performance measures; oversight of reporting methods for capturing program performance; regular appraisal of basic program performance statistics and data analyses; contribution to reports that explain initiative results to a variety of audiences; and systems enhancement to ensure accountability. The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade announces a Request for Proposals (RFP) for website redesign. The agency provides information on its programs and services through its website, including the Healthy Start Program, MomCare Program and the Fetal Infant Mortality Review project. The website also provides a venue for event and meeting registration, and serves to share documents and forms with contracted providers and community partners. Healthy Start contracted providers use the website to advertise group classes to clients, and retrieve forms and contractual documents through a secure portal. - Therapist For its’ Circle of Strength program. Will provide behavioral health services in an outpatient, community-based program serving children, adolescents and their families. Must possess master’s degree in social work, psychology or closely related discipline; experience providing counseling and or psychotherapy services; and demonstrated knowledge in the areas of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, diagnostic assessment, long- and short-term treatment, family systems theory and group treatment. - CAT Children Mentor To assist clients with educational, vocational and life skills development, and help families enhance their family support network. - Developmental Specialist II - PACE Program To provide support to Developmental Specialists I when conducting parenting classes and parent-child interaction groups, purchasing and maintaining program materials, and obtaining donations from community partners. Bachelor’s degree in mental health or related field (degree in child development preferred); knowledge in areas of child development, infant mental health, family functioning, child abuse and neglect, and resistant clients; and proven skill in collaborating with other disciplines and services required. Must also participate in and successfully complete training on The Incredible Years Curriculum.
- Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Program Supervisor * To provide clinical supervision and documentation review that ensures services provided are family centered, and focused on increasing youth’s ability to successfully cope with life challenges and build resiliency using fidelity to the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model. Must possess master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, marriage and family therapy or mental health counseling; knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children/adolescents and families, child development, family functioning, co-occurring disorders, crisis intervention, and child abuse and neglect; minimum three years’ experience working with children and/or adolescents with behavioral health needs; maintain an active Florida license with the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling; and be a Florida approved qualified supervisor or become a qualified supervisor within 30 days of hire.
- Hourly Direct Therapist - Part/Full-Time To be responsible for, but not limited to, participating in monthly case staffing meetings and implementing therapeutic treatment plans for emotionally disturbed children/adolescents through individual, group therapy and behavioral management. Minimum master's level degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy or psychology with current state of Florida license or Registered Intern status with state of Florida. Two years' experience with severely emotionally disturbed children; knowledge in areas of child development, family functioning, child abuse and neglect, and resistant clients; and skill in collaborating with other disciplines and services, required. Must successfully complete a background screening.
- Mental Health Targeted Case Manager To be responsible for providing community-based case management services to assigned clients. These services include, but are not limited to, assessing clients' need for services, advocating and linking to services, and monitoring services. All case management services must be provided in accordance with the Medicaid Mental Health Targeted Case Management Handbook, ICFH policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. Must possess bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education or a related human services field, and one year full-time or equivalent related case management experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and three years' full-time or equivalent related case management experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances. - Community-Based Therapists To provide mental health and substance abuse counseling services to clients of PsychSolutions under the direct clinical supervision of a clinical manager. - Initial Treatment Evaluators To conduct initial assessments for children and adolescents who are referred to PsychSolutions in order to determine eligibility criteria for services. Must possess master’s degree in mental health field; minimum two years' full-time experience working directly with children and adolescents; assessment experience; current and unrestricted license issued by the state of Florida Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor Board; ability to provide assessment in home, school and various community settings; and flexible hours to accommodate the needs of clients and family. Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) preferred; background screening required. Sign-on bonus available.
- Intake Manager To perform a variety of duties that facilitate the efficient operation of the intake and medication clinic departments; ensure that referrals and new medication management cases are processed accurately and in a timely manner to ensure optimal customer service; and fulfill quality assurance responsibilities while performing all other tasks, under the immediate supervision of the director of operations. Must possess bilingual fluency (English/Spanish). Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field, preferred; administrative/clerical experience highly preferred.
