"Neither Wolf, Nor Dog"

The drama, adapted from Kent Nerburn's 1994 novel, follows the journey of a white author that is summoned by a Lakota Elder to help him write a book about his perspective on Native American life, past and present. The two, along with the elder's sidekick, embark on a road trip that highlights Lakota country, its history and struggles, and its hopes for the future. The film is not rated.

 "Crooked," by Catherine Trieschmann, focuses on a 14-year-old aspiring writer, Laney, who has just moved to Mississippi with her recently divorced mother, Elise. At her new school, Laney befriends a local pastor's child, Maribel. As Laney begins to ask questions about religion and sexuality, her relationships with both her mother and Maribel are put under strain.

"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

Based on the book by Rachel Sheinkin and music written by William Finn, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is a musical about a  group of six contestants who enter a spelling bee.
Art Exhibit: Bruce McCombs

Bruce McCombs has been a professor at Hope College for 50 years this fall. McCombs has displayed his prints and paintings all around the U.S. His artwork has been procured by many permanent collections both nationally and internationally, including the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The Baroque Concert: Bach and Beyond

J.S. Bach's "Air on the G String" is an all-time audience favorite melody.  Principal Oboist Ellen Sherman is soloist on The Baroque Concert: Bach and Beyond, which includes music from the Baroque plus a contemporary piece by Brazilian's most famous composer, Heitor Villa-Lobos, that's inspired by the music of Bach. It's the first of four concerts in the Grand Rapids Symphony's Great Erasseries.
