Notification to Parents of Screening and Referral Process for Gifted Services
The consideration for gifted services may be reported or automatic as defined by the GaDOE Resource Manual for Gifted Education Services. The Fulton County School System screens all students for eligibility for gifted services twice a year and uses a systematic approach to identify highly capable students who may qualify for gifted services.

The gifted teacher routinely reviews available data to refer students for further assessment. Students meeting either the automatic screening OR the classroom screening criteria AND have supporting data gathered from test history, products, and/or advanced content levels are referred for additional testing to determine gifted eligibility.

Dear Cambridge Community,

We would like to extend to you an invitation to play in our 4th Annual "Bears & Birdies Golf Classic". This great event will be held on Tuesday, November 7th at the beautiful Manor Golf & Country Club. This fundraising event is our single largest fundraiser and source of funds for Cambridge Baseball's Capital Improvements. With your contributions, generous donations, and participation, this fundraising event will help us build one of the finest Batting Facilities in the State of Georgia.

Our golf event has sold out every year and everyone has a great time.  We will also have an abundance of Silent and Live Auction Items that you can bid on.  This event is fun, but more importantly your participation will help fuel the future success of the Cambridge Baseball Program.

If you cannot play golf, but would like to participate by either donating items for the Silent and Live Auctions, sponsoring a hole, or attending the dinner, please email our Diamond Club:   cambridgebaseballclub@gmail.com. Thank you for your support!

Parents Experience 21st Century Learning
As the world changes, so do the essential skills our students need to be successful. This is the 21st Century, and as educators, we want to ensure our students learn the essential skills, knowledge, and dispositions needed to succeed in their adult life. We are currently preparing students for careers that may not even exist yet, and to solve problems we may not even know are problems yet. Teachers are incorporating 21st-century skills such as; communication, collaboration, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity along with course content. Today's classroom may be more personalized than what you might recall from your own high school learning experience; teachers facilitate learning to individual students' needs, skills, and interests. Opportunities for parents to experience our learning labs will be held throughout the year.

From the Clinic
Karen Thimsen, Clinic Assistant
There is always quite a lot of illness at the beginning of the school year every year. If your student has a temp of 100.4 or more, Fulton County Schools requires that they stay home and can return to school only when they are fever free without the aid of medication for 24 hours. If you take your ill student to the doctor and find that they have an illness such as mono, strep or flu, please send me an email at thimsenk@fultonschools.org or call me at 470-254-2536.  Please let me know what symptoms he/she has had and the date they started. We need to track these illnesses because if there are several cases, we let all Cambridge parents know so they may watch for the same symptoms in their students and hopefully stop the spread of a contagious illness.  Thanks so much, and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

PAWS  Class Changes
Change Request Form Now Available
Students have the flexibility to change their PAWS as their interests and academic needs change. The PAWS Change Request Form is now available at www.cambridgehs.org . Please note that academic changes will take priority and students are to follow their current schedule until they receive a new schedule indicating that their change was made.

Parents, students are asked to complete the PAWS request form to advocate for their interest or where they need support. Should a student require support in a specific subject area, the student's teacher, grade-level administrator, or counselor will request to have a student's PAWS schedule change to support that need.

Please find the revised  Fulton County Calendar.

Please note that Cambridge High School has additional Professional Learning days, granted by the School Governance Council. There is no school on these days. These dates are:
  • Thursday, October 4, 2018 - Cambridge Professional Learning Day
  • Wednesday, October 10, 2018 - 1/2 Day (afternoon), Cambridge Professional Learning Day
  • Tuesday, March 12, 2019 - Cambridge Professional Learning Day
