In their first-ever national tournament appearance, Graceland University (Iowa) beat Louisiana State University-Alexandria 83-80 in overtime. The Yellowjackets are the first Iowa team to win the NAIA DI Men's National Championship.
On the women's side, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) won their
first national championship
after 21 tournament appearances. The Lady Lions defeated Westmont (Calif.) 76-64 in the finals.
