A Note from Pastor Diane regarding
Safe Church Policies:
The safety and well-being of our children is a top priority for this church. All paid staff are subject to a comprehensive background check and must sign our "Safe Church Policy" at the time of hire. All volunteers who come in contact with children are made aware of our "Safe Church Policy" and must sign a document attesting to their knowledge of this policy which includes the prohibition of hiring staff or using volunteers with any history of violence against children. If you would like to review our policies, or discuss this please stop by the office.
From Jack Bowman, Minister of Music
This Sunday the choir anthem is Gloria from the Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi. Our music meditation between the scripture reading is Change My Heart, O God.  The choir is introducing a new hymn. This is one of our teachable moments to help you become familiar with this hymn before the congregation sings it.

Fall Festival Success
Thanks to everyone who contributed to a successful Fall Festival! Members and friends volunteered to greet visitors, cook hot dogs, sell items, and collect tickets. Others donated items to the Treasure Trove, baked goodies for the Country Kitchen, and brought beautiful quilts to decorate the Meeting House.

Preliminary financial records show that gross income was $7,700.  However success cannot be measured only in financial terms Throughout the weekend we heard: “The Quilt Show is gorgeous...” “Every year I look forward to the best hot dogs....” “Ah, the delicious smell of baking bread....” “Our whole family enjoys the magic show and hay ride...”

There are far too many people to name individually. However, special thanks must be given to those who organized an activity: Sarah Zarbock-Quilt Show; Barbara Collins-Treasure Trove; Linda Estabrook-Country Kitchen and Decorations; Roseanne Lamson and Bob Weber-Hot Dog Tent; Jennifer Weigel and John Estabrook-Finances; Lee Collins-Set Up and Take Down; Ward Belcher-Hay Rides.

A very special THANK YOU goes to Roseanne Lamson—a “volunteer extraordinaire.” She cleaned, sorted and priced all items for the Treasure Trove during the summer; made 105 jars of jams and jellies for the Country Kitchen; helped make granola; and managed the Hot Dog Tent on both Friday and Saturday!

It was a wonderful celebration of the 63 rd Annual Salisbury Fall Festival.  There were lots of smiles and laughs, greetings and conversations, fun times and a sense of community. Thanks to everyone!
Bible Study
Men's Ecumenical Bible Study meets on Fridays 7:45am. All men are welcome.

Women's Bible Study meets on Thursdays at 4:30pm in the Parish Hall Library. All women are welcome, no previous experience necessary.
Responding to Hurricane Florence
The deadly impact of Hurricane Florence – now a tropical depression – continues to grow. Floodwaters are rising as the result of a vicious storm that has already brought historic levels of rainfall. It has left thousands of people in shelters and hundreds of thousands of households without power. Church World Service is working to get families the supplies and support they need to recover. The Corner Food Pantry
We will continue to collect donations for The Corner Food Pantry on the SECOND Sunday of the month during worship. Our next collection will be on Sunday, October 14.
Pick One Up at Church!
The Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service has provided us with these important FILE OF LIFE cards, for anyone who would like to take one. Fill it out with important medical information and keep in the magnetic pocket/holder on your refrigerator. In the case that you are ever in need of emergency services, the EMTs will take this card and be better able to treat you, with this information handy.
Pick one up in the Parish Hall or church office.
