Beginning Quilting 101

If you have always wanted to learn to quilt then Beginning Quilting 101 is for you! In 5 weeks you will be able to complete a quilt top for a lap sized quilt (cutting and sewing homework is required).
- Learn about the basic tools required for quilting and choosing fabric
- Learn skills on how to read a pattern, rotary cutting and machine piecing
- Learn how to prepare your quilt top for quilting, quilting tips and how to bind and finish your quilt
- Tips and techniques to make your first quilt a winner will be provided
Test-drive one of our computerized sewing machines to complete your quilt.

Edge to Edge Quilting in the Hoop

Have you wanted to use your embroidery machine for a new in-the-hoop technique? Do you want to use your embroidery machine to quilt some of your projects? If you answered yes to either of these, then this class is for you!
Learn the Edge-to-Edge Quilting Technique in the hoop while making 4 appliqued placemats. Students will learn how to mark fabric, embroidery machine applique a leaf pattern, and edge-to-edge quilt all 4 placemats at one time. You should be able to finish the placemats in class, and then cut and bind them at home.

Pieceful Pines

Pam's rich reds, greens, and neutrals combine to create a center medallion wreath surrounded by log cabin and pine tree blocks. Swoon or Swoon 16
Teacher: Jean Starr
Dates: Saturdays, October 20 & 27
Time: 1:30pm-3:30pm
The Swoon quilt pattern is made up of nine beautiful 24 inch star blocks each using half-square triangle and flying geese blocks. Learning these two skills will take your quilting to the next level. OR, use the new pattern Swoon 16 and your block will come out at 16 inches each.
This class will teach you the techniques needed to complete the block, but we will not complete all nine blocks for the entire quilt top.

Ditty Bag

If you have wanted to make a zippered bag but have been intimidated, this is the class for you! Choose from one of three sizes of Ditty bags and join this class to learn how simple it is to do! After learning the basics of quilted bags, you can move on to making traveler's bag, voyager bag or beyond.

Jelly Roll Rug

It's all the rage in the quilting world! So, come and join our class and learn to make a rug from a Jelly Roll (bundle of 2 1/2 inch strips) and some batting. You will learn tips for success in making this rug. So pick our a Jelly Roll in your favorite colors and join the fun! You won't want to make just one!

Software Sampler

Do you want to learn quick easy digitizing projects? If so this is the class for you. We will meet each month and learn to digitize a new complete project using 6D or Premier+ software. Come join Jane as she guides you through the software modules necessary for these projects.

Free-motion Quilting (moving beyond stippling)

Time: 1pm-3pm
Do you often wonder how to finish your quilt? Are you afraid to move past stippling and yet you are tired of stitch-in-the-ditch? Well, during this class, you will gain confidence as you follow the patterns in the book "180 Doodle Quilting Designs" to use continuous-line quilting designs that are adaptable to blocks, triangles and borders. We will begin practicing the designs by tracing with pencil and paper. Then once the muscle memory is learned, we will take our skills to our sewing machines.
