Lorrie Goodbread
DCS, High School Science Teacher
OCTOBER, 2019
-- I am from Marietta, Georgia but I have lived in Canton, Georgia for the last twelve years. I graduated from Lassiter High School and earned my Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Kennesaw State University. Over the course of my teaching career, I have taught in both Christian and public school settings. I enjoy both math and science and have taught a variety of subjects in those disciplines.
Outside of school, I spend my time with my family and serving in my church. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 34 years, and we have three adult children and five grandchildren (all boys). I teach Sunday School and play the piano at the church my husband and I attend.
I am very thankful for my relationship with Jesus. I was very blessed to have been raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as my Savior at a young age. My father was a preacher and I admire his faithfulness to the Lord that he exhibited throughout his lifetime.
The Lord directed me to a job posting for a high school Chemistry teacher at Dominion Christian School. Through the application and interview process, I was impressed with the emphasis the school places on Christ. It was clear that the administration was not only interested in my qualifications as a teacher but was most concerned with hiring spiritually qualified teachers. The homeroom devotions, weekly chapel, and staff devotions along with the administrators, staff, students, and parents all make working at Dominion a true blessing.
