Partnering for safe and healthy communities.
Come Party with Us (for a Good Cause)
Our Spirit Gala is just around the corner! It’s one of the biggest ways we build community support for children and families, and you definitely want to be there this year. Not only will you get a chance to hear inspirational stories from the children and families we work with, there will be silent and live auctions, entertainment by the performance art collective Quixotic , dinner catered by Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions , an open bar and an electric performance from KC favorite, Twice on Sunday .

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available. Don’t miss out on this important and fun way to help us keep children safe and families together!
Celebrating New Foster Parents!

Scott and Tiffany Welhoff just completed their foster parenting classes. Scott grew up in foster care, and was adopted by his foster parents. He and Tiffany want to provide a safe place for children who cannot be at home for whatever reason. They are excited to be caring for children as foster parents themselves. Let’s welcome them to the foster care family!

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, attend one of our upcoming info sessions to learn more!
The Healing Power of Plants

Kansas City Community Gardens is a great partner that seeks to empower and inspire low-income households, community groups and schools in the Kansas City metropolitan area to grow their own vegetables and fruit. They’ve been a huge help to our Healthy Living program, and recently took visit to our campus farms.

Helping LGTBQ Youth Gain Independence

Chelsea Daniels is a young transgender woman who had to leave her parents’ home. After a failed foster care placement, she found acceptance and success in our Pathways Transitional Living program. We spoke with her and Case Manager Lori Wegman about Pathways, as well as some of the challenges Chelsea and other transgender youth face in the area of social services. Listen to what they have to say.
