Dust a Little or Dust a lot
Written by Scott and Kate Shumka
Kate studied the Culinary Arts program at Con College and has worked in many kitchens, but decided that working in restaurants wasn’t for her. She enjoys working in our kitchen the best, cooking for friends and family. Scott also has worked in many restaurants and loves to be in the kitchen.
Always playing around in the kitchen, we started throwing different spices together (in Morinville, AB. 2014) when we came up with an amazing blend. We started putting it on ribs and chicken thighs for our bbq's with friends. They then started asking if they could have some to bring home. Which was then Shumka Dust was born.

Penny Kahramanos, owner of Naxos Grille and Bar, grew up in the restaurant business, working at establishments - restaurants or hotels - owned by her parents, and other restaurateurs in the city and region.
Penny studied biology, computer science, and business at Lakehead University, and had a job in a different industry before her uncle encouraged her to open a restaurant of her own.
