The Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) for Families training will provide you with knowledge that can be applied to daily life with your loved one. This training is designed for parents and caregivers of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The focus of PBS is a proactive approach aimed at preventing problems by teaching new skills and making changes to the person’s environment.
The PBS approach also recognizes a person’s strengths and interests so that you can help promote adaptive behaviors that are meaningful to them. The goal of this training is to learn the reasons why people engage in behavior and how you can help to improve their quality of life. When you leave this training you should be able to identify the behavior, the conditions that are occurring around it, and next steps to take.
