MCA AB/BC joint conference was a success

We had 211 people in total join us at Bear Mountain Resort from May 4 to 7. It was a busy weekend with a full, but fun schedule.

Meeting Olympian Adam Kreek for an early morning workout, then hearing him deliver his keynote later that day certainly was a highlight. He urged us all to continue to seek out our next gold medal goals no matter our age or stage in life. Attendees also participated in a "Top Notch Operations" business session with Ron Coleman, where we walked away with a list of resources that can be shared with our companies.

Thank you so much to all our sponsors as this conference wouldn't happen without you. To see a full list of all sponsors, click here.

Medical gas pipe installer certification

The current method to gain installer credentials requires a journeyman plumbing certificate and demonstrated medical gas experience. For installers, it's determined on a case-by-case basis for those who have done quality work and have medical gas experience. However, this current method has no official certificate yet.

Moving forward, the AHJ will be determining what will go into a new official certificate. This move towards an updated version of the standards will have ample warning from the Safety Codes Council who write the building codes and decide when a new version is adopted.
