First National Bank Alaska Campaign Success
 First National Bank Alaska and their employees are very supportive of the annual United Way of Southeast Alaska giving campaign. First National Bank Alaska employees present United Board members a check as part of the recently concluded Southeast Alaska region-wide campaign. The amount includes donations from employees and the corporate contribution. United Way of Southeast Alaska wishes to express sincere appreciation and recognizes the efforts of FNBA employee's in their Southeast communities of Juneau, Sitka and Haines, where FNBA operates branches.

The Juneau Radio Center is using the power of their 5 Juneau Radio stations to raise money for United Way of Southeast Alaska. There are multiple ways to participate!. You can now give what you can, on-line at kinyradio.com, through United Way of Southeast Alaska, you can show up to live broadcast's & give that way or get on the Juneau Radio Center app and follow the link in our logo below.
At the end of the year The Juneau Radio Center will be presenting United Way of Southeast Alaska and their 33 partnering agencies, a BIG FAT CHECK! Donate to help our friends, neighbors, co-workers and family.

Tom Sullivan Elected to the Board of United Way of Southeast Alaska
|
At the March meeting of the Board of Directors of United Way of Southeast Alaska, Tom Sullivan was elected to the board.
Tom has been a Juneau resident since 1984 and has created a successful career in banking. With 31 years experience, Tom currently oversees offices in offices in Haines, Cordova, Sitka and the two offices in Juneau as the Southeast Regional Manager. .
Tom has served on several non-profit boards over the years in Juneau, is active in the Juneau Chamber of Commerce, and is past President of the Juneau Gastineau Rotary Club.
He has raised 3 children in Juneau ages 27, 24 and 18 and as of September 6th of last year, he became a grandfather for the first time, welcoming his grandson Hayden Parker into the world.
Sullivan commenting on his long term involvement said "I am proud to be a part of United Way and the great work it does in the communities of Southeast".

AmeriCorps Program

The AmeriCorps tagline describes its mission in three simple words: "Get. Things. Done."
Indeed it has-and then some. Since its inception more than two decades ago as the centerpiece program of the Corporation for National & Community Service, AmeriCorps has matched more than 1 million Americans of all ages and backgrounds with non-profit organizations, schools, public agencies and other service groups across the country. These AmeriCorps members not only tackle pressing community issues, themselves; they also mobilize armies of volunteers for their organizations.
AmeriCorps enjoys a similarly long history of service in Alaska. Founded in 1994 by Governor Walter J. Hickel, Serve Alaska works with the Corporation for National & Community Service to bring AmeriCorps (and other programs) to the Last Frontier. Part of Serve Alaska's work entails overseeing and administrating grants for local non-profits to run national service programs as AmeriCorps "hosts." Last year, the United Way of Southeast Alaska became one of six grantees in the state to receive this designation.

Deadline is Midnight March 31
It's time to file for your
Permanent Fund Dividend.
Pick.Click.Give. allows Alaskans to donate a portion of their Permanent Fund Dividend to causes they care about statewide.
While applying for their PFD online, Alaskans can choose to Pick.Click.Give. in increments of $25. All donations are tax deductible and donors will receive tax documentation from the State once their donations have been processed. Permanent Fund Dividend applications are available from January 1 to March 31, though Alaskans may choose to add or adjust their pledges online through August 31.
The program is run by The Alaska Community Foundation in partnership with the Rasmuson Foundation, The Foraker Group, United Way of Anchorage, and the State of Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend Division.

Don't be one of those people who forget to apply until just before midnight on the 31st and then get locked out of the system before finishing the process of filing!
