Manna Pantry will be held as scheduled tonight and tomorrow a.m. Please note we've changed the time for Manna Pantry Prep to allow more individuals the opportunity to serve in this important ministry.

in Tyler Hall. Please join us!
Manna Pantry is a ministry that provides food to 150 families and individuals on odd-number months throughout the year. Friday, volunteers help unload the truck, arrange tables, assemble boxes, open and sort items, and box food for persons who will need special assistance the next day. On Saturday, volunteers will greet and check in guests, then fill their boxes as they move them along the tables cafeteria-style. Some volunteers are needed to assist persons by carrying their loaded boxes to their cars.

RECTOR'S FORUM, Year-round, Begins September 16

The Rector's Forum offers a time and place for engaging conversation that is not anchored to a specific curriculum or topic. Always we consider how to honestly and faithfully live out our Baptismal vows, whatever the topic of the day.
INQUIRERS CLASS - 2 Orientation Sessions Offered, Sept. 9 & 16
Class commences Sunday, Sept. 23 until Advent.
Leader: Fr. Jenkins
Location: Berlin Room
This class is all about Episcopal Christianity, our beliefs and practices including Sacraments & Rites, Service, Church Organization (polity), Worship and the Book of Common Prayer, Scripture and Reason, Church History, among other subjects.
Reasons to consider the INQUIRERS CLASS:
Episcopal 101 - Maybe it's been a while since you were confirmed? Maybe your life experience has changed your perspective? Maybe your faith has grown boring and stale? Come to this class and see where the Spirit leads you.
Preparation for Confirmation, Reception, or Renewal of Baptismal Vows - We will fully explore each rite and its purpose during both orientation sessions.
Perhaps you were raised in another denomination or faith (or none at all) and wish to fully enter the Episcopal fellowship, or perhaps you have come to a place in life when you would like to renew your promises to God, well "we have a rite for that!" The Inquirers Class will guide you through the process of self-preparation to participate in one of these rites when our Bishop, +Scott Benhase, makes his next visitation on All Saints' Sunday, November 4th.
THIS but not THAT - You are most welcome to attend "THIS but not THAT" session. A detailed schedule of topics and dates will be presented during the orientation sessions, so come and see what appeals to you. Perhaps you are eager to learn more about the Eucharist but not about how the church is organized-wonderful! Drop in when you wish.

CHILDREN
WEAVING GOD'S PROMISES -- Ages 8-11 or Grades 3 - 5

Location: Blue Room, Children's Ministries Center
Our bigger children will immerse themselves in an Episcopal formation experience rooted in the stories of our faith as presented in Matthew's Gospel. In this first of a three-year cycle, our children encounter the story of our salvation from the fall to our redemption and how we fit into the story. Our theme in this curriculum year is "God loves us and stays with us-no matter what." Every session incorporates theology and history from our Episcopal-Anglican perspective. Questions??? GODLY PLAY -- 4s to 8, Kindergarten thru 2nd grade
Leaders: Kim Butler & Ivey Coleman
Location: Godly Play Room, Children's Ministry Center
We take children and their relationship with God seriously and seek to provide both space to foster encounters with God and the language necessary to make meaning of those experiences. Within the Godly Play classroom, the Biblical narrative is lovingly presented to children using beautiful materials with an invitation to step into each story with awe and wonder. Children are then allowed time to respond to and reflect on their experience of the story.
Adults are welcome to tour the classroom at any time, but on Sunday mornings we ask that parents do not enter the room. The classroom, and the children's time in them, is sacred. Please help us maintain this sacred space and time by staying with your children outside of the classroom until the doorkeeper invites them in.
Remember to practice these "best ways" discussed at our orientation session. Arrive between 9:25
AM and 9:30
AM. Pick up is 10:25-10:30

Ironman Weekend

Sunday, September 23rd
It is hard to believe we are less than 3 weeks from Ironman Weekend! This will be the 10th year the Ironman Augusta 70.3, the largest half-ironman in the world, will be held and the 6th year that Saint Paul's has opened our doors to athletes, families, friends, and spectators from all over the world. It is a fun-filled weekend that gives us the opportunity to love our neighbors and serve as the hands of Christ by demonstrating hospitality, support, and encouragement.
There are volunteer opportunities available throughout the weekend and we need all hands on deck! There is a place for each of us to be involved in some way. 25 Saint Paul's parishioners have signed up online to volunteer at the swim gear drop on Sunday morning. Others have signed up to help with other volunteer events during the weekend. If you haven't signed up yet and want to get involved, here are a few options for you to be part of a great weekend. You are also welcome to show up that weekend and jump in!
- Prepping and cooking for Saturday evening's pasta dinner. Volunteers are needed on Friday and Saturday. If you would like to be part of the cooking team, call our Dinner Team Captain, Eric Friedman at (443) 540-2073.
- Helping check in dinner guests, serving, providing hospitality, and cleaning up at the Pasta Dinner on Saturday night. The dinner starts at 5:30 PM. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 5 PM to volunteer to help with this.
- Baking cookies, brownies, or your favorite homemade sweet. We have a tradition of serving homemade sweets after the dinner on Saturday. If we have any leftover sweets, they are shared on race day when we open for hospitality. You may drop your sweets off in the River Room on Saturday between 3 PM and 5 PM or call Kim Butler to make different arrangements. If you would like to bake, please email Kim or call at (706) 833-8541.
- Providing hospitality on race morning! We open the River Room from 5 AM to 11 AM for hospitality. The River Room and Tyler Hall will be full of athletes and spectators. Volunteers are needed to welcome and greet our visitors, help serve coffee and refreshments, and freshen restrooms. Our most important task is making everyone feel welcome and at home. It is lots of fun and you will meet many wonderful people. Feel free to drop in at any time of the morning to help out. Our busiest time is between 6:30 AM and 9 AM.
- Cheering on the runners! We are having a party at the front gates of the church from 12 PM to 4 PM. The last leg of the event is the half-marathon. The runners will pass by Saint Paul's church at approximately mile 6.5, the halfway point in the run. We will have a tent, tables, decorations, music, noisemakers to celebrate together and encourage the runners as they come by. We will have light refreshments. Feel free to bring a cooler and a chair and spend the afternoon celebrating with us!

Please consider a donation of one of the following items to The Augusta Humane Society: paper towels, bleach, Dawn detergent, 13-gallon garbage bags, or cash. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.
