eShabbos
Parshas Ha'Azinu
October 11 - 12, 2019
13 Tishrei, 5780
Shalom and hello everyone!
I hope you had a meaningful taanis and your tefilos/teshuvah were accepted.

It was hard to imagine topping our packed rosh hashanah service with our beautiful RH davening and inspired, distinguished mispalilim...but we did it!

Yom Kippur 5780 was through the roof! Every seat jammed with amazing Jews from all walks of life - coming together as a unified force of brotherly love and harmonious heartfelt tefilos to Hashem. I was so proud.

Definitely a highlight of our year and it showcased what Ohav Sholom is all about!

Much thanks to the hard working shul leadership and volunteer staff: President Micah Bloomfield, Cantor Heshy Broyde , Baal Koreh extraordinaire Jeremy Sanders , and amazing gaba’aim Ray Carlin, Ira Streitfeld and Matt Bobman . Your inspired efforts made this yom kippur a complete success!
SHLOSHIM FOR MY REBBE
On a more somber note, this coming shabbos day is the shloshim commemoration for my late great Rebbe, Rav Shlomo Gissinger, zt”l , in his grand shul in Lakewood, NJ.
I will be attending and participating in the ceremonies.

But please join us this shabbos day at Ohav Sholom for an uplifting davening and a great kiddush too!
Help us build on the momentum of our incredibly successful yomim nora’aim. Distinguished speaker, writer and proud Ohav Sholom member Yaakov Weiland will deliver the shabbos morning drasha and afternoon shiur (shiur will address the upcoming yontif of succos.) Thank you Yaakov!
GET YOUR ESROG HERE!

For those picking up lulav and esrog orders, we will be distributing tonight after maariv and also after shacharis on Sunday morning.

If you want your set(s) prepared for you in shul for Monday (yontif) morning, please email me at rabbi@osnyc.org and I will gladly have it ready on your seat!
BUTTERFLAKE IN THE SUCCAH!

I look forward to greeting every member and friend on chag succos at Ohav Sholom and to celebrate in our modest but beautiful succah directly in front of our shul.

Of course, the shul will provide grape juice/wine, l’chaim , delicious cake and cookies from the famed Butterflake Bakery in Teaneck, NJ, for every seudah on yontif.

Join us for kiddush and make a leishiv b’succah with me in the succah immediately after yontif tefilos.

Have a wonderful shabbos!

See you iy”h on chag succos, Sunday night,

Rabbi Aaron D. Mehlman
