Brainwaves Sync to the Speed of Talking, Influencing the Way we Hear Words
[Source:  Science Daily]

Have you ever found yourself finishing someone else's sentences, even though you don't really know them that well? Fortunately, the ability to predict what someone is going to say next isn't the preserve of turtledoves or those in long-term relationships. Our brain processes all kinds of information to estimate what's going to come next, and the speed at which the speaker is talking, or speech rate, plays an important role.

This fall leaf painting activity is super simple, and there really is no way to do anything wrong. Children interested in the process of making the painting symmetrical by folding it over will love how that works but children too young or simply not interested yet can still enjoy painting

Peds Tx Corner" Pediatric TBI - Where Do We Go From Here?
Editor's Note:  September is Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month.   This is just one of the great resources you can find on Brainline.org.  Interestingly enough, it was originally written for the ASHA Leader.

by Roberta DePompei, The ASHA Leader

"She is a beautiful 4-year-old. She was in the hospital for several months and has a severe brain injury. She can't speak and has difficulty maintaining balance for sitting. She is more like a 2-year-old than a 4-year-old. We know there are many challenges before us in getting all the services she will need throughout her life."
