Emergency Closings
All parents must be signed up for the emergency closing communication system to receive phone and text information if Saint Basil Academy will be closed for inclement weather.

Sisters of Saint Basil Pilgrimage participation for Freshmen
On Sunday, October 6th, 2019, the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great, whose convent is directly across the street from our school, extend an invitation to their 88th Annual Pilgrimage to the Blessed Mother of God.  We ask the Freshmen to take part in the procession and special service at 4:00 pm.
 
Please see the attached welcome letter and flyer for more information, or contact theology teacher Jenna Violi or assistant principal Alexandra Penkalskyj.
 
If you are interested in helping out on that day, please contact the school office to volunteer your help, which we always appreciate greatly.

Community Day
Our school-wide Community Day of service will take place on Friday, October 11th. We are asking that each student bring in a donation of one of the following items:
 
Juice Boxes
Applesauce cups
Granola Bars
Goldfish or Pretzels (in individually wrapped packages)
Cookie snack bags (store bought please)
 
All donations should be left outside the main office by Friday, October 4th
Thank you for your help in making Community Day a success!

Reminder to all Juniors and Junior Parents - Class Ring
Ring Mass will be Monday, November 4th. If you have purchased a ring, please make sure you pay any balance that might be due directly to Gary Lehman at Herff Jones Inc. If you did not purchase a ring this past Spring and now wish to do so, please contact Gary Lehman at 215-245-8660 to order one. Also, any other questions regarding your ring purchase should be directed to Gary. Thank you


Counseling Updates

Testing Day - Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors Only
Standardized Testing comes to SBA on Wednesday, October 16th. The freshman will take the PSAT 8/9; sophomores will take the preACT; and juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT. ALL Testing begins promptly at 8:00am. Students will be assigned testing rooms in school. Testing times will vary depending on grade level, but students testing with standard time should all be dismissed by 12 noon.

Students are asked to bring #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils, please) and a calculator. Students are not allowed to have their phones or ANY WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY during the testing. Testing proctors will collect ALL devices before the start of the testing.

AP Testing
AP Test monies are due by October 31st. The cost of each test is $94.00 and is payable online through the School Store or by check. Please make all checks payable to Saint Basil Academy. 
 
College Visits
College Visits continue at Saint Basil Academy. ALL juniors and seniors are welcome to sign up on Naviance if they are interested in a particular school.
