We are disappointed to report that after a long day and much effort from both bargaining teams and the State-appointed mediator, we were unable to reach an agreement. At approximately 4:00 AM this morning we were released to Factfinding. In the Factfinding process, a three person panel, chaired by a neutral individual appointed by the State of California, will conduct a hearing and issue an advisory report that is designed to help the parties resolve their dispute. Often, labor settlements are reached before or during the Factfinding process. When we receive the date or next steps, we will communicate that to you.

You can refer to the FAQs regarding bargaining, mediation and fact-finding that were sent to staff on Friday, October 4, 2019. The FAQs along with our previous Bargaining Updates are available on our website: https://www.pittsburg.k12.ca.us/site/Default.aspx?PageID=5569 .
