Dear Executive Director:

Are you engaging your membership?  Are you communicating on a regular basis?  Are you using e-mail, social media and video to make these touches?
 
E-mail is very relevant.
Most everybody has an e-mail account.   4.3 billion e-mail accounts send 196 billion e-mails every day.   And 91% of consumers check their e-mail every single day!  Read more about why e-mail works here and here .
 
Social media should be part of your engagement strategy.
Sometimes people look for your association on social media before they look for your website, so you need to have  some social media presence.  What platforms are your members and potential members using?   That's where you should be active, too.
 
Video doesn't have to be a major production!
You can film just about anything!  Using equipment you already have -- your phone --  learn  how to make videos easily with Facebook Live that you can save/upload elsewhere -- YouTube, your website, your blog,  etc.   Here are a few ideas for your new video:
  • Do you have a new venue for an upcoming tradeshow, or event?  Share what's new and different.
  • Are you celebrating an anniversary?  Make a quick video showing then and now.
  • Did you receive a donation?  Record a thank-you video!
