Church of the Holy Comforter | October 7, 2019
Holy Comforter’s Pennywise Thrift Shop has found a new home, at 214 Dominion Street, Vienna.

The Pennywise volunteers will be working over the next 3 weeks to create a new store and stock it with donations and consignment items. We cannot do this without your help!
Donations
We are asking for only certain items: WINTER clothing (women’s, men’s, teens, and children/infant, decorative items, purses, shoes, books, kitchen ware, small furniture, framed artwork, and jewelry. Additionally, if you have any rugs and full length mirrors, we could use those to furnish the shop.

Donation Weekends
  • October 19 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) - Please bring a bag of donations to the church parking lot.
  • October 20 (8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) - Please bring a bag of donations to the church parking lot.

Cars, vans, and trucks are needed October 19 and 20 to help transport donations to the shop.

  • October 26 and 27 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) - Drop off donations at the new shop at 214 Dominion Street, Vienna (across from the caboose).

All are invited to become a Pennywise volunteer!
All ages—men, women, teens—are welcome. We will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are 2 and 3 hour shifts—days and hours are flexible. We need cashiers, sorters, and pricers. If you’d like to join our community of volunteers, please contact Lisa Wood and let her know the days and times you will be available.
Move-In Handymen and Helpers
Our new shop is a blank space and we will need strong helpers to hang shelves, move furniture, assemble racks, and more. If you have a few hours on October 16 or 17, please contact Helen Mertz.

For questions, please contact Lisa Wood or Helen Mertz.
