Letter From Brian Alnes LetterfromBrianAlnes

After 56 years we are finally updating the interiors of the cabins at Lake Beauty. All of the furnishings and materials have been purchased - new beds, mattresses, pine tongue and groove for the ceilings and furnaces. We did an update a few years back for better insulation and air conditioning, now is the final step. We put the call out to our 64 Owner Churches, and they came through, along with the help of several individuals who stepped up to make this a reality. We are hoping to get started on the work in the next few weeks. We would love a few volunteers for a day. Or how about a week!

Summer '19 was great! We are praying for all the people who made first time professions of faith to walk boldly and continue to grow in knowledge of Christ. With several staff transitions that occurred over the past year, we were blown away with how the team God created came together so that camp and campers flourished.

It is already time to start recruiting for Summer Staff 2020. There will be a lot of travel these next few months for promotions and recruiting. So let's pray for safe travel and good conversations with young adults about coming on staff.

We are also praying for 2 four-door cars to use for promotional and recruiting trips. We put on a lot of miles, and the vehicles we have are all over 220,000 miles.

We are also continuing to pray for people to step up and help financially with our new High Ropes Pole Course. This really is a huge priority, as our current High Ropes course is half of what it used to be. And, as it is one of the last tree courses in the Midwest, we have been talking about doing this upgrade for a long time. We are going to be installing a complete pole course next Spring as long as the funds come in. We are still looking for $50,000.00 to cover the costs. Let's work to make this a reality!

Over the past 13 years, we have done more than 2.3 million in updates and improvements at Lake Beauty. As a direct result of people's love and support of the camp, we have been able to do all of these updates with cash, and without an increased cost to campers.

We would love prayer for opportunities to reach out into the community and bringing in some new school groups and other guest groups, as the doors to do so are opening. The prayer is that we would be a light to a dark world right here in Long Prairie and Central Minnesota.

A final prayer request is for a great turn out for the Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 2nd. We always struggle to get a quorum to the Annual Meeting. And although I keep hearing that things are going well at camp and there are no contentious issues, we still need a quorum. We acknowledge that we are all busy, so we trust you will do your best to attend. Let's gather to tell the stories of what God is doing at Lake Beauty Bible Camp!

Remember to join us at camp for the Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner on December 7th.

Thank you so much for your support of camp, and for the joy that it brings us to know that you are praying for us.
A word from Phil Tolbert phil

We had a great weekend during the Woman's Retreat!

Some highlights included snacks under the stars, creating Autumnal crafts, a movie in the chapel, and great conversations with one another. Ladies were able to hear from Jill May four times throughout the weekend and were encouraged by her to live into their faith.

Some of the comments we received from the evaluation forms were:

"She is powerful, fun, never a dull moment!"
"Connecting people with similar stories for encouragement."
"I liked having the fall craft during a workshop time so the free time afternoon was open."
"Loved the Q/A session! We really got to know the heart behind our speaker."
"Having time to myself and going for a walk in the woods up north is where God showed up for me."
"Jill was FANTASTIC!! She had the perfect things to say and she was real about her life and experiences! Loved Jill!"
"Had a blessed time with people I don't get to spend time with normally!"

Medicare Open Enrollment is comingcovenanttrust

Choosing the right Medicare Supplement/Advantage plan is a critical decision. Choosing the wrong plan, one that doesn't cover a costly prescription you require, could cost you thousands of dollars. It's important to review and compare Medicare supplement plans annually during open enrollment, even if you like your plan, because changes within your plan may have been made.
Medicare open enrollment is this year from October 15 to December 7, 2019, with any changes to your plan that you select becoming effective January 1, 2020. Each year, most Medicare beneficiaries should receive their Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) and Evidence of Coverage (EOC) from their existing Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plan providers by September 30. To compare plans, see what Medicare plans are available in your area, and to enroll in a new plan visit Medicare.gov or call 800-MEDICARE (800-633-4227). [i]
Another option for information and enrolling is to call the plan of your choice or visit its website. Many plans change - both the benefits offered and the premium - as do your health needs over the year. Take this time to ensure that the plan you are using is the best fit for you.
When selecting a Medicare plan, enrollees should look at co-pay amounts, drug formularies and treatment coverage. Enrollees should also consider the cost of premiums, what their deductible is, and cost sharing. [ii] Take the time to review the coverage that you are offered, what doctors and pharmacies are in your plan. Look into the convenience of the plan; are the doctors accessible, does the plan offer a mail-order pharmacy option?
Last, consider customer service of the plan. To find ratings based on the quality of care and customer service each plan provides go to  Medicare.gov/quality-care-finder. [iii]
If you have questions about your Medicare or your Supplement, visit  medicare.gov, the official U.S. government site for Medicare.
