NJASA Names Three Regional Superintendents of the Year

SEL - A Comprehensive Exploration for School District Leaders











A new era in education is emerging, shifting our emphasis toward whole child education. District leaders who become experts in SEL will be at a distinct advantage, improving academic outcomes, reducing the potential for violence, and creating happier faculty.
  • Part One: Monday, November 4, 2019
This session will emphasize the underpinnings of SEL, including a new definition, a theoretical framework, and the internal/external barriers to successful learning. 

  • Part Two: Friday, January 10, 2020
This session will explore 15 key SEL’s not commonly known. Examine the intersection of individual and organizational needs. Understand how school culture supports SEL with the ultimate reward of organizational health.

  • Part Three: Monday, April 20, 2020
The final session examines the 15 pivotal aspects of SEL. Evaluate your own program and learn how to improve services to students through strengthening your faculty.

On February 19, 2019, Governor Phil Murphy signed a bill to revise and expand the New Jersey Family Leave Act, the Temporary Disability Benefits Act, and the New Jersey Security and Financial Empowerment Act. This Administrative Guide will update our previous publications on these issues and provide an overview of these laws. 
NJASA Wishes to Express Sincere Condolences to the Family of Louis C. Acocella
Superintendent of Hudson County Schools, Spiritual Guide, longtime Bloomfield resident was active in his community. Born and raised in Newark, N.J., he went on to higher education, eventually receiving his Ed.D. in administration and supervision in education. Throughout his career, he worked in various districts in New Jersey. He will be most remembered as Superintendent of Hudson County Schools.
