AHS Graduate Competes in World Ultimate Championships

Jake Thorne ('18) is competing this week in the World Junior Ultimate Championships in Waterloo, Ontario. The US team plays Belgium in the semi-finals today; finals are tomorrow.

Board Approves Salary Increases for CSEA 27 and 860

The Board of Education unanimously approved salary increases for two labor partners at its public meeting on August 14, 2018.

The approved increases were for California State Employees Association Chapter 27 (CSEA 27), which represents office/technical workers and paraprofessionals, and CSEA 860, which represents custodial, maintenance, and food service workers in the district.

Applications for Measure B1 and Measure I 
Oversight Committees Available

AUSD is now accepting applications for both the Measure B1 and Measure I Oversight Committees. Measure B1 is an extension of the Measure A parcel tax, which provides AUSD with $12 million annually. Measure I is the facilities bond, which is providing $179.5 million for AUSD's facilities.

Consolidation Committee

We're looking for four more high school students to sit on the Committee to Consider High School Consolidation! The committee will meet at least eight times starting in early September and will hear from both AUSD and outside experts on the potential effects of combining Alameda High School and Encinal High School. Applications have been mailed and emailed to all AUSD high school students. Deadline: August 24, 5 pm.
