From the desk of our
ο»ΏS.T.E.A.M. Lab
This week in STEAM we finished up our body unit. Our ECE15 and ECE2 classes learned about how to take care of our bodies by brushing our teeth, washing our hands, and taking a bath. ECE3 and ECE4 learned that inside our bodies are our lungs to help us breathe and our heart to pump our blood. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students took a more in-depth view at how our heart and lungs work to help us live.

Tiger Rising
Mrs. Schneider's Fifth Grade class completed reading
The Tiger Rising
. As a final project students drew a picture from a scene in the book which was then taped to the underside of a table. Students lay on their back and colored the picture. This is a nod to one of the characters in the book who is named Sistine, after the Sistine Chapel.

After learning how AIPAC provides education to lawmakers, the students went to Capitol Hill, where they met with U.S. Rep. Lizzie Fletcher's office to ask for her support of legislation aimed at strengthening U.S.-Israeli ties. Thank you to Michael Duke for chaperoning the group. A special thank you to the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston for sponsoring our students' participation.
