Catholic High School Visits

The next few weeks will be an exciting time for our 8th graders as they begin to plan for their futures beyond St. Cecilia. We will be touring the Catholic schools in our area to give our students the opportunity to learn about outstanding academic and extra-curricular programs, to ask questions about the application processes, and to see the high school students in action.

We will take buses from St. Cecilia after homeroom each morning and arrive back at approximately noon each afternoon. Students should dress in their Mass uniforms each of these days. Although we will arrive back in time for St. Cecilia Catholic School lunch, 8th graders will be eating lunch at the high schools. Please mark the following dates on your calendars:

9/10 - St. Agnes Academy (Lunch is provided; Girls wear tennis shoes with Mass uniform)
9/10 - Strake Jesuit College Preparatory (Lunch is provided)
** Since this is Homecoming week, the 8th graders may participate in “Crazy Sock Day” with their Mass uniforms to the high schools on Monday September 10th.

9/13 - Incarnate Word Academy (Girls must bring a sack lunch with a drink)
9/13 - St. Thomas High School (Lunch is provided)
9/17 - St. Pius X High School (Lunch is provided)
9/18 - 8th Grade Visit to St. John XXIII College Preparatory (Lunch is provided)

9/28 - Duchesne Academy (Girls will be picked up at St. Cecilia Catholic School after early dismissal. They will eat lunch at Duchesne first and then tour. The tour ends at 2:30 and parents may pick up their daughters at St. Cecilia Catholic School at approximately 2:45).

For more information on the schools we will be visiting, please visit the Catholic High School information page on the St. Cecilia Catholic School website

Because you have filled out a permission slip when registering for the 2018-2019 school year, St. Cecilia Catholic School does not require an additional one to be signed. However, St. John XXIII College Preparatory does require a hard copy permission slip to be signed, and St. Pius X High School requires an online permission slip to be signed. Please see the attached forms for more information. Students must bring the hard copy permission slip to their homeroom teachers by Monday September 17th.

Please email me with any questions regarding these visits.
