A part of this worship service will honor animals who have touched our lives. Animals that are still living and those who have died are included in this honor. Please send photos of animals that have touched your lives to Blake Preston,

UUCUC FAITHIFY CAMPAIGN FOR FIRSTFOLLOWERS LAUNCHES TODAY!
The Racial Justice Project and Social Action Committee have teamed up to create UUCUC’s first Faithify campaign. Faithify is a crowd-sourcing way to raise funds, allowing anyone to contribute to campaigns they care about. It’s like GoFundMe but with UU values built in.
We are raising funds to help FirstFollowers open the FirstSteps Re-entry House in Champaign County. They are very close to having enough funding to open their doors. Our Faithify campaign could put them over the top.
The FirstSteps house will welcome people leaving incarceration and help them successfully transition to the community. Priority will be given to those who would otherwise be homeless. That’s where FirstSteps will fill a huge need.

Member Sally Babbitt and several staff members began looking through the UUCUC archives this week to develop a game plan for further preserving and organizing historical church documents, a plan which will include establishing policy on identifying what kind of items need to be preserved and digitally archiving documents.
They discovered quite a number of items that they were excited to share with the congregation. Each week moving forward we'll share a document or a photo that we currently have in the Archives - just for fun!
|
|
This photo was taken approximately in the late spring of 2010, and features past UUCUC Presidents. Sally identified those present, from left to right in row 1 are Doris Jones, Sally Babbitt, Sandy Hannum, Peggy Patten. From left to right in row 2 are Todd Kinney, Chuck Cooper, Valerie Deichman, David Gross, Claudia Gross, Brian McDermott, and Axel Gehrman.
