Salsa Day

It is Salsa Day in the WG Garden on Tuesday, September 11th!

We will be making a "one bite salsa" with ingredients from our garden.  Extra parents are needed to help make this go smoothly!  If you can lend a hand from 11:15 to 1:15 (or even part of that time,) it would be appreciated! You can sign up directly through this Google Sheets link: Sign Up Here

Picture Day

Fall picture day is this Wednesday, September 12th. Packets were sent home with students last week.  Please return your order form or online order receipt with your child on Wednesday 9/12, so they can give it to the photographers!

Recycling Day

Our first Recycling Day of the new school year will be this Friday, September 14th. Recycling is not only great for the environment, but it's also a wonderful way to earn extra funds for the grade levels.

Bring your plastic bottles and cans, separated, in plastic bags clearly marked with the grade level, to the front of the school by 8:15am on Friday!

If you would like to assist your child's classroom by being the Recycling Rep or for more information, please contact Karin Jensen.

Fun Run

Save the Date!

Friday, September 28th is our annual Fun Run! You won't want to miss this day!  All families are welcome to come cheer on our Roadrunners! Packets will be coming home with your student on/around September 17th, but in the meantime, for more information, click here.

If you have not turned in PTA waiver for your student, please do so ASAP.  Students without this waiver on file WILL NOT be able to participate in the Fun Run.  Click here for a printable copy that you can fill out and turn into the school office. Can't remember whether you already turned in yours? Drop us a line at [email protected]

If you plan to volunteer the day of the Fun Run, make sure you've submitted your volunteer clearance form!

Run Club

Only 3 weeks until the Fun Run!  Get ready for the Fun Run, build your running muscles and earn fun charms.  All WG Roadrunners are invited to join Run Club on the blacktop at 7:30 Friday mornings.  It's a fun, non-competitive and super-healthy way to close out the week and start your weekend off right.  All participants are encouraged to stretch for 5 minutes, then run laps around the "blue line" for 20 minutes.... that's it!  We record everyone's daily and cumulative distance.  Some of our top runners have gone over 300 "career" miles!  We'll see you out there.

For any questions, contact Audrey Gillette at   [email protected]

If you would like to help serve ice cream during lunch time (11:20-12:45/1:00) on any of these dates listed, please contact Stephany Jenkins.

Halloween Trunk or Treat

Save the Date!!

We will be hosting our first Trunk or Treat on the evening of Friday, October 26th.  All roadrunners are invited to attend!

What is a trunk or treat?  A trunk or treat is similar to trick or treating only instead of going to someone's door, you go to the decorated "trunk" of a vehicle.  It's an opportunity to have some fun and also be creative!  We are looking for volunteers to participate and provide your decorated vehicle for this fun event. More details will follow as we get closer, but in the meantime, if you would like more information or you are interested in participating, please contact [email protected]

For sample images of a trunk or treat, search "Halloween trunk or treat" in Google images.

Amador Cheer Clinic

Kids will learn, cheers, dances, games and enjoy lunch with our competition cheerleaders. On game day, October 11th, they will be invited to perform during the Freshman game!   Our cheerleaders are looking forward to having your daughter/son at the clinic again this year!  Please email [email protected]  if you have any questions or concerns.

Calling All Talented Decorators

PPIE's Fall Gala promises to be a spectacular evening yet again, and the organization seeks talented table decorators to enhance the experience while raising funds for PUSD programs.

The committee is  working with  PPIE  and each school site to collect donated centerpieces for display on each table at the  PPIE  Gala on Friday, October 12th This year's theme is Harvest Moon. Ideally, donors use the theme and creatively incorporate it into their centerpieces, which will then be used as prizes for a game that attendees can participate in (raising funds for
PPIE  to use to enhance our school staffing).  We likely need two centerpieces per school to create a beautiful dining room full of different interpretations of the theme.

For more information, details or questions, contact
[email protected]  before Wednesday, September 12th.

Parenting Workshop

  •          Strategies for improving your child's positive behavior
  •          Strategies to identify why challenging behaviors occur
