Sunday, September 9, The Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost
The 3-service Sunday worship schedule begins on September 9.

Services: 8:00 a.m. Early Eucharist
    9:00 a.m. Mostly Jazz Mass/Messy Church®
   11:15 a.m. Choral Eucharist

The Rev. Sarah Shofstall will preach at all services. Jennifer Cochran and The Gateway Band will play at the 9 a.m. Mostly Jazz Mass/Messy Church®
service. During the 11:15 a.m.  Choral Eucharist, soloist John McElliott  will sing Michael Head's "Sweet Chance, That Led My Steps Abroad."

Messy Church: Ministry Fair Edition - during the 9 a.m. Mostly Jazz Mass
Kick start your 2018-2019 program year at Trinity by attending and participating in Messy Church: Ministry Fair Edition this Sunday! Messy Church® is a creative, intergenerational and celebratory worship experience practiced around the world.

Like any other 9 a.m worship service, worshippers will enjoy The Gateway Band, the Gospel, prayer and the Eucharist. Unlike other services, Messy Church: Ministry Fair Edition will offer opportunities to engage with Trinity ministries through activities, demonstrations and crafts.

And there will be a breakfast spread and coffee! Come hungry, dress comfortably and bring an open mind.

Messy Church® is about bringing people together in all their mess, with their messy lives and their messy families, and coming to God as they are. Messy Church at Trinity Cathedral is an inclusive experience for adults and children to share with hands-on activities, crafts and demonstrations, and to break bread as a community. Messy Church reflects a God of joy who wants people at every stage to celebrate life together in all its fullness.  Contact Children, Youth & Family Minister, Kate McFadden at  kmcfadden@trinitycleveland.org
for questions.

NOTE: Ministry Fair continues throughout the morning, between and after all services. We encourage everyone to visit Ministry Fair to find out more about the many great things we do at Trinity and check out the opportunities for getting involved.

Eucharistic Practice Trial to Start September 9

Beginning with the Sunday, September 9 services, there will be a 3-month trial modification in Trinity's Eucharistic practice. Instead of pita bread, which has been served at the 9 a.m. and 11:15 services, we will use wafers.

There are three reasons for this experiment. First, because pita comes in five-loaf packages, left-overs of consecrated bread have been a problem. Second, because the consistency of pita can differ, some loaves are easily divided, while others test the hand strength of the Eucharistic ministers. Finally, pita is prone to shredding, with the result that consecrated bread sometimes falls to the floor and must then be consumed.

At the conclusion of the trial, the 9 a.m and 11:15 a.m congregations will be surveyed to determine response. Contact Dean Gaston at
pgaston@trinitycleveland.org or the Rev. Sarah Shofstall at
sshofstall@trinitycleveland.org for questions or concerns.
