HCPF Publishes New Information on Opioid Use in Colorado

Last month the Department published a new overview of opioid use in Colorado.  The fact sheet highlights information about opioid deaths in the state specific to Medicaid members, trends surrounding the number of opioid prescriptions filled and ways in which the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing is working to address the issue of opioid addiction.
COMMIT Update

Our new claims processing system has been live for more than a month now. To date, we have processed more than 6 million claims and have paid providers $862 million. Our last financial cycle yielded $134 million in payments to providers. We now have 44,709 providers enrolled and have added more than 2,200 new providers since March 1.

The wait times for our fiscal agent's call center continues to be the biggest frustration for our providers and we are working closely with the fiscal agent to bring these down. The fiscal agent has added staff and extended call center hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. The average hold time (for all calls) has been under one hour for the past week and we expect wait times to decrease as providers become more familiar with the system.

Additionally, we know some providers continue to experience individual problems with the new provider portal and claims submissions. Please continue to send provider concerns to us so we can research and address them.  The best way for providers to stay informed of system updates and known issues continues to be by subscribing to our mailing list and checking our provider resources website

Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II Update

The next Phase of the Accountable Care Collaborative seeks to leverage the proven successes of Health First Colorado's (Colorado Medicaid's program) programs to enhance the member and provider experience. The goals of the Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II are to improve health and life outcomes of members while using state resources wisely.

Targeted public comments were sought by the Department on the draft request for proposals (RFP) and are available here . The Department is working to review all comments received and is making updates to the RFP that align with our agency authority, state and federal rules, and the goals of Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II.  The Department plans to release the final RFP in Spring 2017. For more information on Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II go to: CO.gov/HCPF/ACCPhase2 .
